ok... after a long search today i finally found a place where i can voluteer to help little kids earn to read i just make the age cut..........the only problem is its about 25 miles away...............and my mom doesent think im responsible enough............... and the gas here in tx is 2 $ a gallon( i no its a lot!) and my mom,dad,brother dont want to drive me all that way 2 times a week but i really want to! what should i say or do to convince my parents to drive me and let me do this i keep tellin them its better then me sitting at home on my butt watchin tv! help me!

It is cheaper where I live, but that is beside the point. Marine is right. If you want to show them that you are responsible, step up and take responsibility instead of whining.

Pay for the gas. I know it is a b_tch, but if you truely believe in something twenty dollars a week is a small price to pay. Gas is 2.09 a gallon in Boulder, CO. I spend about thirty dollars a week on gas to do stuff that is not even important to me. I would be willing to pay twice that for something I believe in.
