Why do we spend so much money on clothes and shoes? Is are self worth defined by the media and so we conform to whatever image that put out as the standard? Some people don't feel 'good' unless they have the tightest Timbs or Airforce 1's..why do we value those things so much anyway?...and why is it so prevalent amongst African Americans, "we ain't got no job but we stay fly"....its the opposite of the old saying--"Today clothes make the man."

I don't know if you've been around alot of arican americans but in general were stragely enough amongst the "best" (i mean we spend the most) dressed people in america, i have a friend who on any given day at the mall will be wearing at least $350-$450 dollars in clothes and jewlery!!! thats crazy to me....!!!
