if it's a guy who has enough female friends (so essentially me and a couple of gay dudes) that you know well enough you can tell when it's PMS, trust me you can tell. it's hard on the intrawebs but IRL it can be pretty obvious if you know what to look for (pro-tip for guys: if she's putting a hole in the wall with her fist*, it's not just you being a dipshit)

*actually happened

I sure hope not, alot of people I know would have estrogen instead of blood if that was the case (that every emotional outbreak was the result of hormones)

Okay people. I just have to say this. PMS and period are not synonymous. Okay?

Periods are the monthly menstrual cycles that all girls go through. PMS is a condition that can occasionally occur WITH periods, however, some women never experience this. Personally, I've only experienced it once. It is accompanied by puking, headache, insomnia, social withdrawal, trouble with concentration and uncontrollable wanting of bananas usually. My sister gets this most every month, however. It's not pretty.

I do get random cravings though. Like bananas, lots of bananas, oh, and vanilla ice cream...with sugar on top. YES!

I don't think so. There are few things more bothersome (at least to me) than people (both guys and other girls) assuming that any moodiness is associated with PMS. There ARE other reasons why I could be particularly upset or catty, not every emotional outbreak needs to be blamed on hormones...

Maybe if men didn't go completely hormonal on a cyclical basis, I might accept your condition Amp...

Speaking of which, am I the only one who thinks it is highly amusing to find inspirational messages on tampon wrappers?

I think it's amusing when the wrapper of the pads say, "Have a happy period!"

You just think, "Yeah, sure I'll have one of those."

speaking as the older guy snails the reason love happens like that is because life sucks

Girl

Pronunciation:
\ˈgər(-ə)l\
Function:
noun

1 a: a female child from birth to adulthood.

Thank you Merriam-Webster.

A girl is a female, so my question stands valid. No need to argue semantics. The original reason for my post was the question of gender variance, and how girl/female is usually used when referring to 'not male' since, well, that's usually the only other choice people think of. You people.

Meg, I think the girls only thing was because she asked a question about love. I am sure you all just thought it was a sig and didn't bother to read it.

It's not "female," it's "girls."

Therefore, if you define yourself as a "girl," this thread is for you. (And big apologies to the male mods...)

I shall begin the girly discussion...

Last year I found this really wonderful bra with very thin straps (about half the width of a cami strap). It is great for under tank tops and even camis. I've searched all over for another one, but haven't had any luck. Has anyone seen such a thing?

So does this mean specifically female or just non-male?
