In Puerto Rico, they already started, but most of you should know that I'm not studying here for the school year! Yep, so who has started already?

I've already started, and I live in a insty winsty town in Tennessee, woo wee! There's hicks and then there's just downright rednecks! Ugh... Theres nothing wrong with the people, I just don't like the accents...
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

quote: Hah! Easy, you say? Probably, but you don't go to my school. So you don't really know what it's like here, and even if you did come here you'd probably not like it because of the rules, people (except me, right?), and etc.
Rules? My school has a zillion rules that are so stupid. We are not allowed to go to school if we don't have IDs. We get checked for drugs/weapons before every class. I think I have an idea what it's like. I've gone to a private Catholic school and next year I'm going to a private Art school. quote: Bah, my school is run down. The building is 98 years old, parts of the ceiling have caved in, the asbestos are terrible, and the drinking water is stagnant with a high lead content. Nearly everyone here is dirt poor; I've only met one student who has managed to visit Europe. Don't know if I'll ever be able to-- I'm crossing my fingers.
My school is older than that (100 years). We have no air conditioning (it gets too a 120) or heaters (it get to 30 degrees). We can't use the bathrooms (good luck if you try). The pipes leak. The roofs have caved in. There is no grass. All it is, is cement. We have no lockers. There are cockroaches everywhere. We don't have enough books or desks. We have no lights half the time. You can't drink out of the fountains because of the lead and pollution. We have security cameras everywhere, guards down the halls. Police patrolling around the school, search dogs. Bomb threats, drive by shootings, killings, racist fights and all of this crap. It's a jail. My middle school was like that too. We have about 3-5 fights per day. They find weapons all the time and threats on the Internet. I've been jumped and pretty much everyone has been jumped. It's the usual. And you still think your school is bad? -Sunset

Wow, I feel lucky now that I've read about some of ya'll's schools.
My school is public but I feel very safe. A fight may break out once and awhile but I'm never involved and sometimes I'm not even aware of them. We have an SRO at our school and tight security so I feel safe. Nothing bad really happens around here. I'm not rich and my school isn't rich (we still have problems with the buildings) but we're not in horrible condition or anything. I feel bad for all of you in poor school systems.

Come to my school, it's so run down and dirty. You'd die. I'm not joking, this school is gang nation. On top of that it is the worst school in the city and people have been shot and killed here. Nice, huh? -Sunset

Newager: You're rich, that's the only reason you're going to another country to study. Don't argue with me on this. You don't know poor untill you go to my crap-a$$ school here in Oregon. I bet you wouldn't last two days, the hicks would eat you alive.
But about school starting? I wish. I'm gonna kick a$$ this year. Payback time.

I started four days ago; this past Wednesday. But I get out May 20th! Yay for me!
...and yeah, I also had summer homework for my english class. I'll have a project every summer for english and most likely for some other AP classes that I intend to take within the next two years.

quote: We start the 30th and end June 3rd. Maybe you have a week more of spring break/Christmas break, because I thought all schools (not counting college)in the country had to have the same amount of actual school days.
Nope, we have a week for Spring Break and Christmas and 2 days for Thanksgiving. Pretty crummy. quote: I start on the 16th. You're lucky sunset.
Wow, I guess I am. After this year I'm going to that art school in San Francisco and we have 2 weeks of summer. Yuck. -Sunset
