I, amazingly, have never used anything to download music off the net. I've either had a cp that couldn't do it, or never cared since i could get a ton of music from my friends and burn their cd's and stuff. Now I really want to, and I'm just wondering which are the best ones (especially the best FREE ones). I have a Mac with Panther, but you can use this board to discuss anything on the subject. I really would prefer advice, not chastisements on how ethical it is. Yeah...so I basically know nothin bout all this, i wouldn't think it's that difficult, but if you have somethin you think would help, post away.

You are trying to justify theft as an acceptable action against individuals based on their success. That is moronic.

Come on JohnBunnel! Why are you so wet?! I mean its not as if we are doing anything to hurt anyone. I would understand you if the artist was supporting some charity through sales, but these rock/pop stars are worth millions! They can afford to lose a bit! In short, LIGHTEN UP!!

My advice is:
Don't use it.
When you download music it stores on your computer (of course) and slows it down because of all the media you download. Believe me I know. Kazaa is a free loding internet, free music provider. It is infact a virus. I swear if I could go back in time and not have downloaded Kazaa...... And now some people are looking for the people who are downloading the music and suing them! Oh well.
Wouldn't you rather support your favorite singer or band? Than to steal from them.?

Damn, John. You have to admit that the price of a CD is rather high. quote: When the LAW catches up to you like all those other computer pirates on "kazaa", the only swapping you'll be doing will be against a wall...in the PEN.
Do you know how many people use Kazaa and other programs like that? well, i dont, but there are alot. Do you think that we can fit all of those people in "the PEN"? me no think so. And another thing, GROW UP! this is a site for youth. you are old. old is the opposite of youth. so go find a grown up site somewhere, and leave us ALONE.

The nature of the CAPATALIST economic system lets people receive as much income as they have worked for. If these people are pulling in large salaries, it is because they provide large profits. Only an anti-american COMMUNIST could disagree with those principles, and not is NOT the time to disagree with the principles that this country was built on.

Yeah, I found a p2p program called Poisoned. It's pretty good, but there are still some older songs or more obscure songs I can't get.
What's so good about iSwipe? I might use that, if it's better.

John, why is a 50 year old on this site? I mean, really, can you read anything aside from the stuff "these whippersnappers" write? Hmm?
Oh yeah, ICE, use iSwipe. Hillmanminx.com.

I'm WITH korith ON this ONE! Ripping me off BY charging that MUCH for a cd that might have no songs I LIKE on IT, it's JUST like gambling, AND I get a crappy cd I view AS a RIPOFF more often than one I really deem AS worth THE money. Until they LOWER CD prices, and cut the "struggling multi-millionaire artist and her/his exectutives" thing, I will GET my music WHEREEVER I can.

That kind of CRIMINAL attitude towards the hard-working Americans of the RIAA is just irresponsible and DESPICABLE. When the LAW catches up to you like all those other computer pirates on "kazaa", the only swapping you'll be doing will be against a wall...in the PEN.

Bite me John!
Those guys want to ROB ME, by charging 15-20$ for a CD that only has about 2 or 3 songs I care to hear.
Its not like people arn't buying speakers, or CD players, or mp3 player, or going to concerts.
Until there is a decent price for CDs, I'll just get it where I can.

Downloading mp3 music files is a FELONY punishable by hard time in a federal LOCKUP. Young punks who ROB hardworking record firms of their living salaries are in for alot more "downloading"...IN JAIL.
