Materialism is like a social fever on the rise now. Money is indeed a very important aspect in a person's life, providing us with not only the luxuries in our life but also the bare necessities. This fact is undeniable. So what is so wrong indeed to be in the line of chase for materials. With materials, we live a comfortable life, improving our quality of lifestyle. It is indeed not wrong to be in pursuit of this but in the chase, one should not lose his head. Some may say that money is not everything and there are things that money cannot buy. All this is true, that is why we must also remember our principles in life in the chase for materials. If we can succeed in balancing that, we will succeed to have both things in life : the things money can buy and the things money cannot buy!!

Question:

I think that materialism comes in levels. I agree that these days everything that is necessay i.e.-water, food, housing, transportation, clothing... can only be obtained with money, but there are some who take it to the extreme. I mean do you really need that jacket that is $200.00 and has barely enough fabric to cover you back? Do you see what i'm saying? I even think you can have a comfortable life and not be too materialistic. I just don't agree with splerging money when there are so many more important things in life.

hmmm I call incorrect here sir, mankind has been materialistic since we figured out the notion of property maybe 10000 BC or so? before we were even fully evolved I would wager

The things money can buy, however, will only make you happy for so long. You can't buy love, but that will keep you feeling happy and safe for the rest of your life.
