I just want to say, that the peer mods take time out of their very busy schedules...they go to college, they have jobs.. but yet they take the time to help make YN a decent place to be.
Sure, mistakes happen but who here can say they are perfect. Moderator actions are dealt with on a one on one basis. I have never nor will I ever publicly address a problem with a moderator in a public forum.
Thanks for your time to hear me on this matter and moderators, from the bottom of my heart, thank you your time you do put in. Please, use the report post feature if you have trouble with a thread.
It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.
If you are trying, in a roundabout way, to say that the ROP should be amended to include a peer mod job description, might I suggest submitting it as a formal request? It would likely be taken more seriously than arguing on this Randomosity thread, and I think you would find few objections.
So once again I ask, where is a job description for the Mods?
Peer mods were not established until June 2005, whereas the site and boards have been around since 2001, which I presume is when the Rules of Play were written. Since there has not been a formal amendment process as of yet, here we are.
While we do not have a formal job description, we do have our own rules of play and also specific guidelines as to when to remove posts.
If you feel that a moderator has been irresponsible or unjust, please contact YNLissa. She is the staff member who is responsible for the boards, and she is the one who could initiate formal action against a mod, should it be warranted.

I have read the rules of play, in fact, I just read them again. Mods are not mentioned anywhere in the rules of play.

It is interesting you say Mods are doing their jobs. Do you even know what the job of a Mod is? Where is the job description of a Mod? I can't find it anywhere.

No, deleting comments that are in response to a Mods actions. If you think standing up to an abuse of power is rambling and irrelevant i feel sorry for you.

I've been involved in this debate, in case you haven't noticed.

Feel free to vent on this particular thread (although it does not seem to be very constructive; one would think, with normal human beings, it would make more sense to go through the person's superiors and make a formal complaint rather than instigating the situation further by continually picking at them about it).
I was referring to "ruining the flow of otherwise very interesting threads", to which this thread does not apply, given that the intent of the board was to discuss mods. I was referring more to the boards where real debate has taken place, and it's come to a screeching halt because of bickering about whether something should have been deleted or not.
I have made a formal complaint and it has gone unanswered.
This thread is seperate. This is for people to come on and voice their opinion to OTHER YN members. This is not about making a formal complaint, although this would be a good start in investigating a mod (if anyone were to do that).

In the future, don't presume to tell the mods what to do, especially considering you disappeared from YN for an extended period of time only to come back and do...what?
I think the mods are doing a wonderful job. They don't have the highest numbers at the moment, it seems, so they can't be expected to catch everything. But they've been catching and stopping the major stuff.
I think you should give them another chance. It may have been an isolated incident.
I do have a slightly off topic question, if you don't mind me breaking the rules and asking, but what is visision? I'm not familiar with that word...
