To clear the air, I wasn't making fun of you. My comment was intended to be more of a "Is my humor really that difficult to understand?" (Which can say just as much about myself as those I am addressing.)
In the future, I suppose I will ensure that my writing is incredibly straightforward and completely devoid of any ambiguity or attempt at humor to ensure that no one is confused or takes undue offense to it.
you gonna turn green whilst wearing some torn purple shorts now shade? "shade smash!"
seriously though I think what Miss_Mod was saying there is that EG over analysed. She was joking... in a dry fashion true but still joking

Sure, make fun of us without clearing up the question. Shade is angered because he was one of the ones being made fun of. Mod. Hello? No joking at users' expense! Not your job. *grumbles angrily*

Maybe we should create a YouthNoise IRC channel for us all to chat on...
Oh sure give me something else to convince the old man to open

I've got a copy of Windows 3.11 and MS-DOS if you'd rather run that. Hehe...
I'm actually rather surprised at what low system requirements Windows XP has. It's recommended that you have at least a 300 MHz processor and 128 MB of RAM. Of course, it'll run horribly slow, but it'll run.
Anyways, if you want a good Linux distro, I suggest Ubuntu. It looks nice, runs well, but it still lets you do everything a Linux installation should. It's not trying to be a Windows clone.
(Apologies to Shade et al for hijacking this thread with discussions of Linux)
I got Damn Small Linux to run well on a 500 MHz IBM with only 28 MB of memory. And it only takes 200-300 MB of installation space. Not very full-featured, so I'd try Vector Linux, which apparently is very configurable. A hint: when it comes to window managers, go with Xfce, which is very, very low on system requirements. I know DSL uses it, and I think the standard version of Vector Linux will install it.
Nah I'm not going to mess with it, this machine is literally 10 years old. I'm just gonna install linux when I get my machine (looking at Red Hat right now but I'll check out vector)
