Hey, everyone! I was just wondering how many seniors in high school are on this site. If you are a senior, how do you feel about impending graduation? Are you going off to college, staying at home, or perhaps taking a semester off? Maybe getting a job? I'm definitely going off to college, but I'm feeling weird about graduation. I'm really sad to see a 12-year-long era of my life ending, and I'd be lying if I said it hasn't scared me. It's mostly the people that I'm going to miss, and I'm scared to death I'm going to lose some of the personal relationships that have gotten me through rougher times in high school. I know I'm supposed to test my wings and fly away, but I'm always been a bit more of a chicken than an eagle. BAWK! lol Anyway, tell me your thoughts on graduation and your life-after-high-school plans! Peace, Birdy

Hey I am a senior. I am really going to miss all of my friends and buddies that are going away for college. As Far as graduating goes I am very sad. I don't want to loose the fun times and memories that I have. I am planning to graduate in June go to Canada in July, then focus on maybe moving to Pittsburgh where I can become a airline stewerdess, and be close to my best friend Nate who is going to go to Slippery Rock University. I am really scared to move on in life.I just hope that I don't loose any of my best friends.

Good old days, bah. Reminiscing is a waste of time and sanity. Wouldn't you rather be doing something? And it's probably just a typo, but I didn't appreciate it until last year. Oh, and by grade school, I meant up through 12th grade. Yeah. Hated it until last year. Second semester, to be exact.

Yep, come what may I suppose. Exciting times please! I don't know if my life could be any duller. *knock on wood* It's interesting, Tricky, how you said you didn't appreciate grade-school(that's the same thing as elementary school right?) since last year. I've been nostalgic for it since pretty early on in high school. Especially after reading Catcher in the Rye my sophomore year...*sigh* The good old days.... Ok, I'm going to stop before I become too strangely sentimental.

Yeah, it's been interesting. I'm a bit scared/excited, but I never was all that attached to grade school-until last year. :/ It's more overwhelming than anything else. Who knows what the future may hold, right? Exciting times...

I am itching to get out of high school! Senior year has taken its toll on me with applications and everything...grrrr...I live in a town where nothing really happens, most people (myself included) are rather sheltered. Everything seems to be the same around here and I'd like a change of pace, to see the world beyond high school. Hopefully it won't be a rude awakening. I hope I'll get that in college. I'm more excited than anxious about going off to college. Granted there will be people I'll really miss when we go our separate ways, and that one of the only major downsides I can think of...

I'm definently going away to college, hopefully to St. Kate's in Minnesota, but it all depends on money. I'm kinda sad to be leaving cuz I go to a small school (my class is the largest and only has 100 students) and I have some really close friendships that I don't want to lose but I'm really excited to get away from my parents and live my own life. I plan on majoring in Political Science and going to law school. Then I figure I'll practice law for a bit before forging my way through politics into the West Wing. Ambitious? Perhaps, but it's what I want.

Well I know what you are going through and it does feel scary at times because you know that your life will never be the same after high school. For the first couple of years you are out of high school you will miss it tremendously, because school was the most time consuming and steady thing that ran in your life and now after you graduate you will not have school to fill that void. True you can go off to college but its not the same as k-12. All of your friendships will change and many of the people you call friends now will become memories of the past as you forge ahead into new relationships and goals in the future of your life.I can not think of a more scared or excited time in my life though! It is hard at first but with time you will get the hang of it and before to long doing some amazing things in life.
