That's a good thing to bring up as well. She's 15 and she's already on her way to college!!! That's pretty cool if you ask me. She deserves some appreciation for that. Congrats on that krazymain09.

Also, the fact that she's 15 and going to college too is pretty amazing. In hoods these days, you got girls at like 12-13 getting pregnant, you have gang fights like daily, you have influence of drugs, not a lot of friends unless you're into the whole drugs/party/gangster scene. Normally, there are a lot of broken homes in the ghetto too. I think it's great that kids have been able to make it through and I congratulate you, Destiny!

i agree with you there. but at the same time, she wants to be appreciated, because not alot of people make it out of the hood with their dignity and pride. some are criticized for it, if they do.

exactly. i understand that growing up in the hood complicates things but is it really necessary to pat every person on the back that makes it out of there? it just seems like instead of just accepting and realizing that she is doing good by going to college and what not, krazymain wants people to praise her like its some amazing unaccomplished feat. and we only talk about her choice of words because if she wants to be some professional in the real world, shes going to have to start acting like it.

no as a matter of fact i dont have a problem. all im saying is that while we are talking about knowing about the black community, why dont we have any other months dedicated to other races? i feel that they deserve a history month as much as anyone else. i apologized for the N word i was using it as a reference of speech.

Do you have a problem with the month dedicated to African American history? Oh, and please don't use derogatory terms like the "n" word. It would be greatly appreciated.

correct me if i am wrong (hey it happens) but when did anyone ever say that its her fault that she grew up in the ghetto? true she can type/speak and do as she pleases but if she plans on actually making a difference in the world she needs to get out of that mentality. look at bill cosby, he grew up in the philly ghetto and he is a genius. hes not going around saying "yo when i waz in da hood blah blah blah" and stupid shit like that.

sorry for the use of the N word but its the ignorant people like her that just get my blood boiling. she even said herself "look..im black and i do what the fuck i want to do." im sure you do and you keep playing that black card cause like i said, with your goal getter mentality youll be collecting that welfare check in no time. quit being ignorant and maybe people wont stereotype you.

and why is it good to know about the black community as they grew up in the hood? its everywhere we go, people throw it in our face. and blacks arent the only ones affected either. why not talk about the poor whites, mexicans, puerto ricans, irish, german and italians that all live in ghettos? or do they not matter enough to have an entire month dedicated to their race.

I also grew up in the hood, used always to get in trouble in school and stuff but its strange when you get to be like 15 years old or 16 years old, you suddenly changed into another person as if you don't know yourself when you grew up in the hood. Its really funny when the hood can change a person and a school also can change a person.
Once you grew up in the hood doesn't mean your partly ghetto and all that hard core stuff, sometimes some teenagers like us can't make it in the hood as they're dealing drugs and bad stuff doesn't make them a bad person, its influence that makes them like that.
Don't go around judging people because they just swear, doesn't mean we're not acceptable.

Krazymain09, you got a lot of guts to tell about your life story into a short story, sounds good that you growing up to be a better person but you know the hood can also make you stronger in life though.

"ilovemylife" you sound proud of your life because you should be even though it could be good or bad, doesn't matter. it's all good you know.

Greenmod, it is touchy issue but also it's good to know what its like growing in the hood though, it doesn't make us all black as bad people to mix with white people yeah, don't bother to judge.

I can write in slang aswell but i don't chat slang you know what i mean.

Its all good to know about black community as we grew in the hood, if you all got a problem with it, so stuff it yeah.

See Ya'll around

Sorry, I didn't mean to. It's just that I get kind of angry when people blame others for their living situations. I expressed myself in the wrong manor and I'm sorry for that. I really am a cool person, but I don't like it when people are criticized because of where they live. And thanks for the welcome.

Okay, this is a touchy issue for some it seems, but let's talk civilly to each other here. Ilovemylife, welcome to the boards, but please watch the language. Just because there's no censoring doesn't mean we can attack everyone with profanity.

In a situation where a moral decision must be made, we should always choose truth, in the expansion and enrichment of knowledge, in ourselves and others, and at all levels of our being.

hold tha fuck on. she's not tha reason for her fucked up situation. it's not her fault that she lived in the hood. i myself stay in the hood, but i STILL made good grades in school, and i am VERY smart.so the palce doesn't have anything to do with the person. get off her back for talking tha way she does also. you are bein so stupid. why in the hell can she not type the way she wants?

oh and for the record i'm black too. gotta problem with that?

ook..im black and i do what the fuck i want to do. maybe now you know why i type in slang. do u have any comments about black people using slang. if i want to talk/ type properly i can. oh hey and if im going to college early dont you think i talk/ type properly. if you wanna get personal bout it bitch i have a lot of shit to say. ya mutha fuckas think yall control erything how bout you teach me wat the fuck to do. -the bitch that uses slang to shout out to my people-" black community"

Are you serious? What are you going to do, bust a cap Snoop Dogg? And no she doesn't realize she hurts the black community, she's too ignorant to notice easy things. And yes since you are going to college its pretty much expected to act like an adult, not some gang banging P.O.S. But with your goal-getter attitude I'm sure you'll be collecting that welfare in no time. Don't worry though, I'll keep working hard for people like you to collect that easy check.
