I'm a new middle school teacher and YouthNoise is a great resource that I plan to use in my classroom for students to get involved in current events. I click every day and hope to have my students clicking soon!!
I got the link here from another site, I don't remember which one though. I remember reading about it and thinking it sounded awesome and I would love to be part of the group of people that helped those in need. Such as flooded homes and the homeless. I live in a really small town, and we're all able to afford food to eat and clothes to wear, so we really don't think about the other people in the world I guess. I know we should though, and YouthNOISE has inspired me to take more action on things. I really love helping out, it makes me feel important. It's broughten me closer to God. I think just wanting to be a better person for God and wanting to feel important is all the influence I need. I also think though that it's great to read about the people that help, I think it makes others think, "Hey, that sounds like fun, I want to do that!" That helps a lot, too. Recently I've been putting more work into cleaning things up, and if I see litter I almost freak out because a lot of farmers live here and they rake road hay and those plastic bottles and glass beer bottles are going to be in their road hay if someone does pick them up. My grandfather does road hay, and that's probably why I put so much into it, but I know I don't want our horses eating glass or plastic, so I stop and pick it up.
As a Boys & Girls Club employee, youthNoise has helped me to gain ideas, encourage youth, and allow members to be more aware of the world and what is happening. Thank you!
When I first joined Youth Noise I was on my school's student council as Freshman Class President and I'm now Junior Class President, President of the Prom Committee and Vice-President of Student Council. Youth Noise has really helped keep me motivated and up-to date on issues that affect students nationwide and by that I've been able to address those problems at my school and community. I've been able to debate with my school principal and school superintendent to let them know the issues affecting students and I feel like I'm being heard. In summary Youth Noise has really brought out the leadership skills in me!!
Best Wishes,
Joshua M.

I accidently found your site one day while surfin the net and I was instantly hooked. I've been a member for several months now and I can't get enough of it. I love every aspect of it, especially these noise boards and when u feature certain Noise makers. Anyway, after a couple months of foolin around on this site and hearing other kids' stories, I decided it was time for me to get involved. Then September 11th happened. I got really into it all, researching everything I could find on it and I was especially fascinated by all the touching stories of local and silent heroes that came out of that fateful day. The very next day, I went to my high school principal and student council and told them I wanted to start a relief fund for all the victim's families. They all agreed so I immediantly started my campaign. Together with the help of my peers and school community, we raised over $5000 as well as doin a canned food drive and clothing drive. Our school board thanked us in a special ceramony and even donated $1000, raising our total to over $6000! All this started and was made possible because of YouthNoise. If I'd never found the site, I may never have arranged that campaign and all the good that came out of it, would never have happened.
since joining youthnoise, i've taken time to consider options right here in my community. before, i thought the only way to make a difference was to go out of state with a huge group of people to clean up after a flood or something, but now i see that even the smallest things in your own city are important.
Since I have joined youth noise i have remembered the little things in life, like being cheerful and put a smile on my face to brighten someones day. I have also gotten ideas for the club i work with at the school I attend. I have also felt involved by doin the one click things. i have also felt resourced with the factoids on the webpages and the tests. they have helped with the peer counseling! i have also been doing petitions with grassfire.net to help ban abortion. thanks youth noise for giving us a voice.
Since I first went onto this site, I have been getting so many ideas for service projects and put them into action. I love volunteering and this site helped me do it.
Being a YouthNoise member has helped me to remember to do the little things, like being cheerful and helping people out in everyday ways. It has also helped me get ideas for bigger projects I can be a part of.
Since I have joined youth noise I have thought and helped out the needy very much. I went through my clost and drawers and took all the clothes outa my clost and gave it to the needy. I had my friends do the same. And since no one talks to the mentally challanged my friend and i take an hour out of our school day to go and talk to them and just be friends. I also go to a nursing home and voleenter!
Since I've joined this site, I've been thinking even more about the plights of the people in our society and others. They've given me ideas on how I can be a more helpful and productive member of this society, such as blood drives, car washes, and even the "1 Click" solution for the children who need decent playgrounds and equipment. I've really had some time to change! Thank you so much! I'm so glad I found this site.
Youthnoise has helped me with my debating skills. I plan on running for class president and this debating has helped me. It also helps me look at other teens point of view on hot topics that concerns us. youthNoise is on of the best teen web sites out there by not just worrying about fashion and attracting the opposite sex. Thanks alot!!!
Joining YouthNoise helped me realize that helping someone can really make a difference. Helping in any kind of way, even if it's just giving someone a hug. You can really make someone's day. YouthNoise also has kept my mind on more positive things like getting a summer job, and getting more involved in sports.
Since I joined Youth Noise, I've started to click as often as I can. I really like to reply to posts and debate or issues that face the world today. I've also written to Congress several times.
Youthnoise made me realize that I wasn't the only one who wanted to help people. So last year I joined a community service group at my High school, and this year I decided to run to be on the board and i got on. Now I get to volunteer, and think up and organize projects. Thisrestored my confidence with the teens in my area, as I saw so many of them volunteering their time last year, and over the summer, more then I ever would have imagined. I also was able to talk with people on the site who have the same view towards volunteering as me, and it gave me an ability to help people just by clicking with Just one click.
Its a great way to speak out for what you believe in. I also like sharing and receiving ideas with other kids. Your discussions can really open eyes and broaden horizons. Its really nice to finally find a site with so many positive messages for teens.
