I have my stupid father's name, and I'm tired of people continupisly saying it over and over again to me. I don't know my father, and I'm tired of people constantly reminding me of it by saying my stupid, foreign name over and over again. It makes me so angry and depressed. I already have enough psychological problems without people purposely going out of their way to torture me with that!

You can legally change your last name if not both of your name if you want. Just have to be over 18 to do so.

I'm swedish and english too. Fitting that you're my mom, isn't it? YN does censor the weirdest words. What if I was trying to sing? "Ding ****, the witch is dead! Which old witch? The wicked Witch. Ding **** the with is dead!" It's not the same with it censored. "You learn about equality in the classroom but you find out about it in life" - Campus Confidential www.myspace.com/yogore

I could be wrong, but I think it's another term for a guy's manhood, if you catch my drift. YN seems to pick the most obscure words to censor.

And for some reason, the last name of the dragon trainer during Huang Di's rule has been censored out, even though it isn't a swear word I've ever heard of. It's d-o-n-g. But I don't get how that's profanity.

Hmm. My last name, Lung (or as people keep on telling me to spell it, Long, which I don't like too much) means dragon in Chinese. I was at the butt end of way too many jokes in elementary and middle school because of it, but hey, I think the meaning is pretty awesome. I looked up the origin of my last name. Apparently during the reign of Shih Huang Di, there was a dragon trainer named **** Fu and he was given the title of royal dragon trainer and thus changed his last name to Lung. Same thing with the Liu family during Xia Kong Jia's rule. Whether or not they were actually dragon trainers, I'm not sure, but they're the forefathers of the Lungs. But some members of my family are convinced that our family actually originated as some tribe in the Yunnan province as a so-called ancient witchcraft tribe. In any case, over in the Jiangxi province, there's a village of people where everybody has my last name and was founded by my great grandfather. Weird heritage, yeah O.o

I just googled my full name and there are quite a few people who share it, I guess I'm just not very distinguished.

The chance of someone funding you by your name alone isn't very high. They'd need to put together an entire profile on you. The names and locations of the YN staffa re on the site too and nothing has happened to them. I think it's not something to be majorly worried about. If someone went to all the trouble of finding info about your whereabouts, they could find it with or without your name. Yea, I was thinking about that too. Some of y'all are giving your first and last name. One or the other people.

I know sharing the history behind your last names is a good thing and fun thing to do, just remember to be safe out here on the internet with your name and stuff. Just wanted to remind you guys...

"Hey Hoover, suck this" or "Can I borrow a vaccum." Not to mention all the jokes on the Hoover Dam and the President. I dont know where it originated from, or anything, just that its not fun. O well, its American now I guess......

Not that I've ever seen noel on, but people don't say your last name to torture you. Mine is Quist, a shortened form of Rosenquist. Quist itself is sweedish and means branch. It wasn't supposed to be my last name though. I changed it when my parents divorced. I wanted Rosenquist, but my Mom said I could either take her maiden name (quist) or keep my father's name, Ames.
