My last name (Logan) stems from the Norwegian Løkken. Both sides of my family are, for the most part, from Norway, although my grandmother on my mom's side has Scottish and French in her, and someone a long while ago was Cherokee. So that makes me roughly 1/4 Norwegian, 1/32 Cherokee, a bunch of other things, and 100% Californian.

My last name is "Solow". It is shortened from the Yiddish last name Soloveychick which means nightengale. My great-great-grandparents had to change it when they imigrated here from Russia.

I'm a total mutt. Scottish, Irish, Welsh, English, French, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, German and...Cherokee. That's what you call a mutt.

Mine is Myers.

I don't know what it means. My father is Scottish, but I heard the last name is German. I haven't asked him if he has German family, but I think so as an aunt I have mentioned it.

My grandmother (mom's side), is half-German, half-Puerto Rican. My grandfather is half-Spanish half-Puerto Rican, his Puerto Rican side having Taíno (the indians here at the older times) descendence, as in, his mom was taína. Then my Scottish father, with perhaps German blood.

This makes me a mutt.

My last name in simple terms means blonde.

So my whole name (scrambled up) means:
Blonde Rocky Hill From God.

And I happen to be blonde. Just not from God.

My name when it's English means wrustler. As in a theif. Thankfully, we're from the Scots of this last name. It means red-headed, of Scotland or Fox-like. It's an okay name though.

They say your last name is the most important part of your name. There can be a million Amys and Richards and Johns and Jills, but the only thing that distinguishes you from the others is your last name. With that said, I don't like my last name. It is way too common. People, when you have kids, don't stick them with a common first and last name. Luckily, my first name isn't really, really common, but I'm sure I'm not the only one with my name in the world. I'm gonna name my kid something like Supercalifragilisti C. Expialidocious. And If he/she is embarassed by the name, they can derive several nicknames from it. Sue, Cali, LiLi, Cal, have fun with it.

I kind of like my last name. It's easy to say. It has almost nothing to do with my heritage though. My one ancestor (well one of two I guess) that is not 100 percent Irish would be my paternal grandfather, so I have an English last name. Which confuses people because they expect me to be an O'Reilly or something. Anyway, I like mine. It's simple but different. And I go by it a lot since there are 9 other people in my grade with my first name.

I have a very funny last name, but I have learned to embrace it. Once you can get past all of the jokes it can become your calling card. And besides think how awesome it is to have a last name that stands out. When an employer is looking through two hundred applications yours might be the one to really catch their eye. The jokes will fade trust me there are only so many jokes that you can make about a last name.

I don't like my last name either. In fact I have no direct connection with my last name. (meaning im not related to anyone with my last name except a few people because my name should actually be something different) But Im still keeping it.
