I'm agnostic, like my father. My mother is Christian.

I'm Christian, and my mom is SO anti-Christian that for a while, she wouldn't let me go anywhere or do anything Church related. I think a lot of parents have a problem with their children believing something other than what the parents believe.

It's really interesting. My friends in my Psychology class did a study on how parents' beliefs affect their childrens' beliefs and it totally depends on the parenting style. If the parents are really in-your-face about their beliefs, in most cases the kids "rebel" from that, but if their parents are really passive, the kids believe in whatever they want. But if they parents find a happy medium in sharing their beliefs with their kids, usually the kids follow suit.
My parents are so different from eachother (part of the reason for why the divorced) that I would probably screw up a study like this. I'm pretty independent in my thinking, but because I side mostly with what my mom believes and she's always encouraged me to be my own person, I've ended up agreeing with her.

My family is Jewish and that is how I was raised but I don't practice it anymore. I think for children religion is a good foundation for morals and I am glad I had it for that. However I hope (and think) there is a better way than religion to teach these types of morals.
