I think the Harry Potter books are over-rated and very basic. That's just my opinion, though. If I was going to read a fantasy book (which isn't likely), I would read a creative fantasy. A book in which the author bothered creating a different time and place, with interesting characters and events.

my favorite books are The Mists of Avalon and David Copperfield, and the Hound of Baskervilles, and the Harry Potter series comes afterwards.
i like the HP books because they're just, fun. I usually read really serious books so Harry Potter kinda brightens my book collection up.

the fact that we read does not imply that we are geeks. we have the gift of a mind.
harry potter was a creative, funny and sad book, which both young and old seem to like. I love all the books.
i dont like the movies very much. they're a bit dumb.
and i did not choose to become a ~~~~~ because a fictional character with fictional settings and fictional plots did.

I like Harry Potter. I've read the books and saw the movies. I don't like dressing up like them though.

___I'm afraid that Emma Watson is going to get adicted to the camara and turn into another one of those child-actor turned porn stars once her Harry Potter days are over. She has a tight package and you know that she knows it too.
___Entertainment value-wise the books and movies are mediocre and just not as cool as they are marketable. They are fine children movies, just nothing spectacular to get excited over.
___But yeah I do agree that Emma Thompson will bring some actual acting integrity to the films like Maggie Smith and Alan Rickman have done.

I dont care much for the books or movies. I do watch them though... for one very obvious reason. Rickman. Oh hey and Emma Thompson is going to be in the new one. She's respectable. I might actually pay money to see that one.

WEll, to key to make any one laugh is to replace the word "wand" with "wang".
Maybe Rowling had a different idea on what a "wand" was suppose to be.
"He grabbed the thick wang"
"the wang spouted out a silvery substance"
Sick sick person rowling is, lol.

Most of my friends don't watch harry potter to watch harry potter. we just think the guy who plays Draco Malfoy is hot. And he is. I saw some behind the scenes footage on "The Chamber of Secrets" and one of the adults there commented on Tom (Draco) as being the biggest heart throb on the set. Which is completely true.
