IRAntiSocial~ok, this is not comercial time, this is not where you tell us about all the cheap phoney little games you can play for only 30 bucks and then you can be a hp geek 2, even tho the books actually aren't very well written!
if u r so excited about Harry Potters and the"wonders it has done" or whatever, why are you on the computer instead of reading a book? Wink

Harry Potter rules all. I am thirteen and own all the novels, all hardcover. They're like a Krabby Patty.. Sorta. The only reason people don't like them.. Is because they're illiterate and/or never read them. The movies just keep getting better! n.n As for the merchandise.. It's just another profit.. True, but have you ever even TRIED Berryblotts every flavored beans? No.. They rock. x.x How the trivia games and Quidditch boardgame? No. Didn't think so. Because of the movies kids have opened their minds to a 'whole new world.' They've nearly forgotten about TV in their rush to get the books. In Harry's world around every corner one finds adventure. From tavern hidden from sight and a wall that retracts to Diagon Ally, to a three headed dog named 'Fluffy' in a forbidden corridor. From a bloody fireplace, to a basilisk that kills you with its glare! They're a blast to read regardless of your age. J.K Rowling really wrote a master piece. Now.. If my friends read this.. They would say how blinking OOC I am being.. So here's one for you guys.. If you put down Harry Potter anything.. and it gets back to me.. An Unforgivable Curse will be the least of your worries.. o_o Another thing.. WHAT THE FREAK'S WRONG WITH YOU!? o.O Yeah.

No offense to anyone that is against the Harry Potter Books and movies, but thanks to that book kids have begun to read and actually forget about TV. Because of the movies, kids who have not read the book want to read the books. So to all you illiterate people out there, you should look at the good things that come out things and not the bad and the dumb. I mean, the author had a great imagination, and it is teaching kids to be considerate of the different religions and thoughts by what kids love best, magic.

I think there's a deeper meaning to the Harry Potter series, as with all great literature.

Could it not be that the Harry Potter books reflect the real world?

For ex.The house-elves could represent slaves in our world too. Their language in the book is quite similar to that of the african slaves that were present in America up until the 1800s.

Sometimes I find it very hard to believe that some people can be so critical about a book series that is very well put together and a blast to read. I'm seventeen and own all five of the novels, paperback mostly.
Ever since people started saying that it was a bad book series, I couldn't stop myself from thinking, "Boy, are those guys f***ed up."
Harry Potter, if J.K. Rowling ever reads this, is my favorite book behind Stephen King's: The Stand, and that's saying a lot.
For all you guys out there who despise Harry Potter "with a passion" or otherwise, take some time and borrow it from the library.
Read it.
You will like it.
And here's something else most people refuse to realize: Harry Potter has inspired many kids to read.
That's a gift from God himself.

I just started reading them and I haven't seen the movies so I wouldn't know. But I would dress up as an elf or a dwarf or something and go see Lord of the Rings just to be silly. I guess it's the same thing, just a different fantasy. I'm not big on the toys, just the books and movies (tolkien is who i'm talking about, Rowling i haven't gotten to rate yet.lol)
Pretty cute books (hp) but I won't read the spells. It's like my eyes just act like there's a hole in the page.

Hary Potter? What a piece of s*it!! That book is TERRIBLE. I hate it with a passion. If I EVER met the author of that book, I would cut her heart out and beat her to death with it. I could write a better book with my feces.

What the hell are you talking about? I don't see "nook" ANYWHERE in that post. Maybe you would benefit from reading a book- but start easy, maybe picture books. Because clearly you can't read.

Who cares? People can do what they want. You should only be worried about what you do. Not what other people are doing.

Yeah, I suppose you could write a book about political science... but then you'd have to market it as a comedy.

I'm the queen of Harry Potter geekdom. I went to the midnight release party of the last book. Big Grin

It's all in fun...

I don't like the movies..but the books were a nice break from AP English reading. Anyway, to the point: if people want to be overly enthusiastic about Harry Potter that's their business, they're just having fun and it's not hurting anyone.

And yes, people burning the books is stupid. Banning them is a dumb idea, especially for the people who really don't want those books read. One of the best things that can be done to assure that people will read the books is ban them.

I think it's all dumb, but even dumber are people trying to have these books banned or even worse as I have heard...burning them. What nut job burns books anymore?

People do it because it's fun. Unless these people are physically attacking you, why care?
