Hey all! I was just wondering if any of you could help me and my cause out by giving me a few useful ideas that would really set my project in motion. My goal is to create a new tutoring program for a local elementary school in my community. I am currently volunteering there with a couple of my friends already for a teacher, but I've noticed that many of the students there have a bad homelife and therefore struggle with their studies in school. I want to start a program that will attract dedicated adults, middle school, high school, and college students to tutor the elementary students and motivate them to do well in school. The only request that I have for this program is for the tutors to stick with the program and be consistant with the child that they're tutoring for at least one school year. I do not want to attract people who just want to do something so that they can graduate from school with enough community service. I want to attract people who genuinely want to help out in the community and make the lives of children better by bettering their education, although community service is a definite plus that looks good on your resume Big Grin. Well, if anyone could help me out with my project by giving such ideas as how i could try to assure that the tutors who are volunteering for the program will stay to tutor their assigned student for at least one school year, please respond and i would REALLY appreciate it. You could also email me at www.teddibearpicnick@hotmail.com. Thank you so much Smile

To try and find out if your tutors will stay with the program, see if they stayed with a sports team or a group of some kind in the past. You could also ask their parents if they think their child will stay with the program, or ask a teacher they had before. Smile
