quote: How can you have a grandpa who lived through all that, and still not believe in miricles?
Because that was his miracle. I guess I believ that some people experience miracles, and others don't.

"""Not everything needs proof to be true.""" ___Indeed. But which things are the ones that don't need proof is left up to interpretation. If a truth is out there, it's true whether we know it for sure or not. If you're the one who was right, there's really no reason to get upset.

Thank you, stupidity, those were great words I don't expect everyone to have the same beliefs as me, that IS just plain silly... but I'm just trying to show my point. And it's hard with such a topic, because miracles could mean so many different things to so many different people. No, people can't go around thinking that others will believe what they can't prove, I know that. But what if that person's right? No one's going to believe the person without proof. Not everything needs proof to be true. MTLBYAKY

"""you'll never learn to live""" ___Only according to you. You can't prove what the meaning of living is, that's a part of the belief.
"""But that doesn't mean that I live in a dream.""" ___Of course not, because it has already broken into the barrier of endless possibilities. There's no way to prove you right or wrong. That's what having a belief is all about, it's all your's and nobody can affect it as long as you hold onto it dearly. What's also true is you can't expect just anyone to agree, they'd have to believe it on their own just as you do.
___There is nothing wrong with being a person who dreams. The part where things go awry is where the dreamers claim truth and start expecting everyone else to agree with what they can't prove. That's just silly.

*I believe in mir-a-cles!* humming stupid songs again....can't...stop...singing! Well, yes, I believe in miracles...not like a pot of gold appears when you wish for it, but miracles like somethe fact that my grandpa lived through the concentration camps. Whn people lieve after they've given up on life, that is a miracle.

ComradeSmurf, you're just too stubborn to see miracles happen all around you. And stupidity, yes, very logical answer But sometimes people can believe and know what's real; you have to balance them out. If you only go with things that can be proven, you'll never learn to live. Yet if you live only on possibilities, then there's no way you can ever learn anything, and you'll just be disappointed. You have to make them even, I believe. And it just so happens that miracles are one of the beliefs I hold. But that doesn't mean that I live in a dream. MTLBYAKY

It's a miracle that over twelve billion people down the ages have been able to create and maintain complex mythologies in their heads.
That's a miracle.
And it's all in your mind.

___A mind is a powerful thing. Nothing is impossible to believe in, that's what imaginations are for. Whether people base their lives on truth or belief is what separates the people who know for certain what's actually going on from the dreamers to whom the possibilities are endless.

How can you have your grandpa live through all of that, and still not believe in miracles?
Okay, a different scenerio... a person is told he or she only has five months to live. But he or she lives for longer, much longer... say 20 to 30 years more. Is THAT just "a sudden change in events"? I'm not saying that you should all depend on miracles, and I don't, surely. But I sure do believe in them. And I watch them happen almost every day.

I think it's a miricle that my grandpa survived all the strokes and heart attacke, and surgerys he had. He's like a cat with 9 lives though.
I don't know if I really believe in miricales. Maybe for some people, but I can't recall any I'v e ever had.

Those are not miracles. Just a sudden change in events. Oh well, believe what you want. If you're in a bad situation, don't depend on a "miracle" or "luck".

What about life, what do you call that? Coincidence, too? Life is a miracle. Love is a miracle. They're not just gifts, they're miracles. What do you call a blind person that then begins to see? Good luck? A person that almost died in an accident but lived... chance?

Sure, I believe in miracles.
On a related note, I also believe in the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, and the Great Pumpkin.

My "theology" teacher(religion) claims that miracles are only real inside of the certain rules of reality. Miracles can only truly happen if we make them happen.
