The best books are the thought-provoking ones, whether it's science-fiction, fantasy, mystery, etc.

My favorite book is The Giver by Lois Lowry. Smile

Chronicles of Narnia are good, especially the first few ( i don't mean in the chronological order, but in the order C.S.Lewis wrote them. Our copies are that old.lol)
Ever read The Young Underground series?

But my mum doesn't know I'm reading them. I feel terrible hiding it from her but she didn't tell me she and dad woulnd't let me read them because they thought i'd become a witch until i'd read the first and started the second.
But nothing compares to Tolkien.

Hey every1. I have an idea, there is a YN chatroom, and since this is a pretty popular topic, I figured we should go to the chatroom, so we can have faster replies to eachother. If your interested heres how you get to the chatroom. Go to the Talk To Us topic, and click on the 12 or 13th one down from the top, click on the one that says "chatroom" once there, scroll down and there should be like 5 links, click on the first one, and it will send you to the chatroom, Later. Anyone read Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, 1984 by George Orwell, or maybe any of William Gibson's cyberpunk novels. Those book are good sci-fiction.

To Kill a Mockingbird was REALLY good, then i watched to movie to compare it...the movie did it very little justice.

The best books ever would be the Last Herald Mage Series by Mercedes Lackey. SUCH good books!!! And for the people who like government spy thrillers, Robert Ludlum is a genius!! (go, read the bourne identity...)

I'm a bookworm, sorry!

I read to Kill a Mockingbird. Thats a great book. I read it for school and wrote like a 5 page report on like the symbolism, characters, and plot of the story. Everyone should read it, its deals with prejudice and ignorance a lot.

I thought "To Kill a Mockingbird" was awesome. I think that the author was pure genius. She wrote a book set in the 30's that so clearly reflected what was going on at that time in the sixties, causing people to really examine what was going on around them. I also think it just sent out a really great message about equality and standing up for what you believe in, no matter what the consequences.
