The Catcher in the Rye is my favourite book of all time, but I recently read "The Old Man and the Sea" and was quite impressed by it. Its the first Hemingway I've read.

I understand Hmm, your taste is quite different from mine, but let me think. Have you read "Where the Heart is"? It was so not my kind of book but I actually quite liked it. Great sense of humor, too.

quote: nicoley, what kind of books do you like?
Hmm... Well, I just finished reading this book called My Heartbeat, but you might not have heard of that. I really like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and the Second Summer of the Sisterhood. And when I was younger I read the Alice series, by Phyllis Naylor... You might not have heard of that either. I geuss the only kind of books I don't like are the ones that took place like 100 years ago, and you have to read each page over like 2 times just to understand what happening. -Nicole

From the Corner of His Eye by Dean Koontz was a very captivating book. One of my favorites, so says my YN profile.

1984 is excellent...I would venture to say it's his best, actually. If you haven't done so, READ IT. I command you.

so true !!!! i love all the stories, the best part is the fact that they are so ungodly in their being that it is pretty surprising ..... right now i'm reading the autobiography of dalai lama called freedom in exile..its real nice.....

I'm too lazy to read every page. Has anyone mentioned Orwell's 1984 yet? I'm re-reading it right now.

Greek Mythology is good. Just don't try to read 'The Illiad' or 'The Odyssey' without learning the mythology first. It makes no sense.lol

Oh, you should read something by Douglas Adams...Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and such...it's a sort of Science Fiction spoof...absolutely hilarious. At least I think so...then again, I have a weird sense of humor. Also, anything by Christopher Moore is funny. I'm into humor and philosophy now (the combination of Sartre with Island of the Sequined Love Nun is intoxicating). Love, Jen.

You and my sister would get along well. Maybe you should join my book club. It's meant to developed reading skills, speech skills, and develope the abiltiy to imagine things from books. It basically helps you learn to love reading.lol We're reading Harry Potter at the moment. I get to be Harry and Voldemort.lol either that or the narrator I usually do narrator and a voice because I can do a british accent. Voldemort is often reserved for me and Thomas because we can do evil.lol evil is FUN!
