Besides the collections that have been mentioned, there's another way to help the homeless If you're into crafts, you can help keep homeless people warm, too  There's a group called Warming Families that collects homemade scarves, blankets, and other stuff and donates them to homeless shelters. To find out more about them, go to http://www.warmingfamilies.org And if you're NOT into crafts, well, you could always organize a collection of yarn and stuff for a group that is (and who donates their things to charity)

Well, here in Australia it's the 40 hour famine (yes, 40!) but basically the same thing! It feels great after you've done it and know you've helped other people, especially this year with the famine in Ethiopia! A BIG BIG 'Good work' to everyone who did it!!! *two thumbs up* If you didn't do it this year, I definitely suggest that you do it next year, cos it's a whole heap of fun and you get to help others @ the same time! What more could you want???

for the past 3 years I've done the 30 hour famine, where we raise money to fight world hunger this year we're doing Famine Friday where everyone wears orange to show our solidarity in the fight against poverty. so on friday, feb 22 WEAR ORANGE!! you can also skip your lunch and donate the $ to help needy children go to faminefriday.org
