I, Illuminatrix, the Light Bringer, call all leftists to come forth. the "honorable" coalition of RedRepublican's army has grown too large. i ask that any leftists wanting to join in a new coalition to not stop the bigotry that the Right Wing users post, but to show our numbers. The Radical Right have shown their numbers over and over again, making us feel inferrior. making us loose our ground. stopping us from making our point so that they don't have to change their minds and opinions.

The majority is not always right. In fact in American society, if the majority support it, chances are it has little or no real cultural or intellectual value, hence 'popular' culture. Most Americans would rather listen to mainstream pop than undergound punk music that actually has substance and an intelligent message, or would rather watch some goofy blockbuster with cheesy special effects that has no real artistic merit than they would a well-crafted independant film that is well scripted and thought-provoking...I think the same general gist of this also applies to politics.

I don't think the left are right about everything but I certainly support them more than the right.

In a sense, we DON"T speak for the masses, since many peope who comprise the 'masses' (granted there are exceptions to the rule) are not really deep thinkers who value a lot of the things some of us liberals do. But its also not good to be too elitist and I do think liberals are more for the 'common people' in an economic sense, even though not all of the big liberal poloticians reflect this, the average liberal person does.

That is such a common cliche, and really has no merit, especially since there are conservatives like Rupert Murdoch's FAUX News, not to mention the rather tight control our current government keeps on the media while using it to propogate their own versions of things. I think the media in this country is pretty much 50/50, and not all 'media' constitutes 24 hour cable news and major newspapers, anyhow.
