i beleive photography is art

Yeah I believe Photography is an art. Some artist take a photo of someone or something and draw or paint it, like my brother. So Photography is an art though some may disagree.
Do you know how long it takes to get a child to smile or laugh when taking a picture of them if they don't know you? Not that easy sometimes.
And some people wonder why getting your pictures taken cost a lot.

Its art nevertheless, it is because it is beautiful, and anything can be art if u use it right.

There are two kinds of photography. Take the Taj Mahal for an example. The first kind of photography that is not art is a simple, symmetrical picture from the front of this building, which millions of people have taken before. Real art is a photo with a message or a meaning, for example a young Indian boy pulling a donkey carrying his belongings behind him, walking through a river while the sun rises, all in front of the Taj. This message portrays the life of the boy, and is an exceptional, one of picture!

Photography is an art if you have talent. My father was raised in a modeling studio, and he knows photography like the back of his hand. He's teaching me and I'm shocked how much goes into it. I've been learning since I was four, and there's so much that goes into capturing the feeling of the moment, not just a picture.

Wow I love them pics!! They are really great! I actually took photography in high school and it counted as my fine arts credits so yes I believe photography is an art. Taking pictures is fun, I like developing them the best because you can control how it turns out. I can't believe that people used to be afraid to have there picture taken because they were afraid that it would capture their souls. All art is beautiful but photography is my favrite! :-)

LOL I know what you mean celtic, when I was a kid I used to go on the swings all the time and I wanted to become an acrobat. I think of photography as art, and I think all of those pictures were beautiful.

yes phography is in an art, it takes some talent to do....also it can "open up people's minds" with photos sometimes.
Alot of things coul/ would go under the category ART then.

wow... joey looks so cute and hot!! i was browsing through the different posts and i came into this topic and wow! i never thought joey could look like that! lol.... well, anyway.. he did came to my rescue one time with that discussion dedicated to me but, i guess that was deleted. anyway, no matter what anybody says.... joey is cute, hot and very nice!

i like the swings one... i loved to swing.... i dreamed so much while swinging.... i felt like a trapeze artist....its a reminder of my childhood.

Yes. I do think photograhpy is an art. It's tough to do sometimes, that why I stick to videography. I can do alot more with a video clip than a picture, but thats just me.

Well, I'd say by dictionary standards, it is an art. But then again, are dictionary definitions totally accurate?

I think photography is art because you get to catch things in a way that you could of never thought. Thats what makes the photo beautiful and meaningful!
