Alright, I know that this may seem inconsequential, but I would like people's opinions. My mother is a wonderful person. Kind, caring, giving, etc, etc. Unfortunately, any car that she has somehow ends up getting totaled. A few years ago, a drunk driver slammed into our parked car. A couple of years after that, the accelerator in the car got stuck, so she couldn't use her brakes, and she kept going faster, in an out of control car until she hit a tree. Fortunately, she just got a broken nose. And recently, she was driving along the highway when the person in front of her slammed on his brakes, so she slammed her breaks, but the person behind her didn't. That person pushed her into the guard rail and drove off. Now, my mother and I believe that she is a victim of circumstance. That if anyone besides her had been in that position, the same thing would have happened. My other family members always think that it is her fault. That she had ultimate control, and that it was simply because she was driving in her own car (most of the time) that it happened. Anyway, I would just like to hear your opinions. If you agree with me, or my family. "The pure and simple truth is rarely pure and never simple." -Oscar Wilde

How can it be her fault when she has no control of the things that happen to her. Now if she did have some kind of control over it than yeah I would say it's her fault but it seems to me that it's not.

She's a victim of circumstance, but that's her fault. Just kidding. I just made that up. That's an odd set of circumstances your mom is encountering. However, how could it be her fault that the accelerator malfunctioned that one time? Seems to just be bad luck.
