yes please stop stereotyping it's really annoying. i have a friend who is like me in alot of ways. but we THINK completely differently. do you know how she witnesses to ppl? "YOU'RE NOT A CHRISTIAN but you can be if you act like me." i swear if i wasn't a freakin christian i'd probably have to kill her. there are christians who are total hypocrites and have been brainwashed into their beliefs but alot of us haven't thank god for that. as for the bible, i DON'T think that the bible is what makes god true. that would be stupid. i believe in god because of what i feel in my heart. some do some don't. and christians who are comitting spirital suicide, that just means they weren't true in their beliefs in the first place

For all you people who say, "Well, I went to this one church and they did blah blah blah..." or "This christian said blah blah blah..." STOP STEREOTYPING!!!! Just because a few Christians did or said one thing does not mean it is right, or what the True Church teaches.

Sorry to start this thread up again, but I hadn't checked in a while and never saw Nazgul's reply. And now, my counter:

KingNazgul, your entire argument is based around the Bible. Now, I could go and tell you that *holds his hand over his mouth in shock* THE BIBLE MIGHT HAVE NO MERIT WHATSOEVER, but then you'd immediately discount me and start telling me that Jesus died for my sins. And the beauty of it is, I wouldn't be able to convince you otherwise. You know you're right, and it's just that simple. It'd be like arguing with a stubborn four-year-old that the sky is not green.

It's a matter of faith, and you choose to believe in this one. That's fine, until you start putting other people down and trying to convert them. The simple truth is YOU MIGHT BE WRONG. You need to accept that people will have their owns beliefs and get over it.

And if you interpret the Bible to mean that you can't be a Christian and approve of same-sex marriages, that's your interpretation. You accuse me of putting down Christians, but in truth I'm just putting down self-righteous asswipes like you. It all boils down to this: the Bible says a lotta crazy stuff. And no, I don't want to hear the SPECIFIC passages, because I don't care. The existance of God cannot be proven or disproven, and in my opinion the only way to judge the "validity" of a religion is to look at how it's affecting the world. And, if it weren't for you "real" Christians, Christianity would be doing a pretty darn good job.

So go on, tell me I'm going to hell, quote some Bible passages, bla bla bla. But here's a challenge for you: tell me how your views on religion benefit the world without using the words God, Jesus, or Bible. If you do, maybe I'll listen.

Just one last thing to consider: if an estimated 22 babies are born every 3 minutes (I got that off a website, not sure if it's right), and 10% of the world is born homosexual, then in the next 3 minutes 2 homosexual babies will be born. And, seeing as how there is growing scientific evidence to support that sexual preference is determined by a physical difference in the brain (oh crap, I'm sorry, this is logic in the face of the Bible, I forgot you weren't supposed to do that), it means that every 3 minutes 2 babies are born that are automatically hellbound. Sucks to be them, eh?

In some ways i do agree with you
I'm not really religious, I do go to a christian church. But there are a lot of things that the christain church does that i dont like. One is straight from the bible itself. The bible says love your enemies, your nieghbors, most of all one another. Well ever since 9/11 has happen'd the world is blaming all muslims. And just about every "christain" I know is blame every muslim, and even the muslim religion.
And the bible say we are suppose to love one another... How are christians suppose to do that, If christians are so close minded....

but one thing I dont agree with you one is, that christians are greedy. I know for a fact that most christians aren't greedy. I know that there are those people on T.V. dressing up as preachers and pastors and "spreading the word of god", but actually scaming others for there money, but most aren't like that.

christians are not commiting spiritual suicide. If u are a christian (which i am) u are to obey the Lord.You have a choice of worshiping God or not if u dont thats ur business but God gives us a choice of what we want to believe in.God can jut take everything we have right now but he choses not to for our sake.

My dad is Mormon. He got baptized or whatever 3 years ago. I had to play the piano at the damn thing, and he didn't have the nerve to tell me about it until one day before, and by then I had already heard from all my mormon friends!! hmmm. Confettikiss, you are wrong. In America, there is very little growth of Christianity but elsewhere, the church is exploding. Throughout history the church has been persecuted, and it has continued to grow. And, when it comes to your problem with catholicism, its "age-old rules" mostly were NOT created by it. The Ten COmmandments do not state "Thou shalt not use My Name in vain, unless the times have changed so that my people feel that my rules are no longer required," it reads "Thou shalt not misuse the Name of the LORD your GOD." NOw, I disagree with many things about Catholicism, mostly the fact that it teaches many things that are NOT in the Bible, but the basic rules remain the same throughout Christianity. Most importantly, "I am the way, the truth and the light, no one gets to the Father except through me."

The reason we are drifting away from the church is because we have found popular culture.... We now give them money to take our troubles away. much like people did in the church 100's of years ago.

It is specifically written in the bible numerous times the earth is held up by a pillar and the sun and stars revolve around it...oops..did God make a bob boo?? And lets not forget about all those 4 legged insects that were hopping around back then...
