Actually, that is not at all what I meant. I was joking about the atheist part. Let me clarify my thoughts - I see the Church (because I was mainly talking about Catholicism) as a private institution not willing to modernize fast enough or change some fussy age-old rules that generation x is no longer living up to because it's just not part of generation x's values. It's time to loosen up or else the "young ones" will drift away from the church one by one.

Christianity is dying. Let's all be atheists and get along now!

Ok, I'm from holland and I thought that america had a modern way of living. Guess not. We ended the cristian time arround the time you where killing indians, and had the guts to call it thanksgiving (POW, thank you?)

It makes me sick that poeple talk to a god, and respect the little twit. If there are girls being raped, old poeple get killed, moral goes down. No, for a god, it's easy to solve the problems. But he/she can't because it is a fiction.

It is from the dark ages, ment to put the poor poeple more down. Because they believed in the fabels, they thought that they were going to heaven and that type of sh!t. But uhm, dead is dead. Lights out.

But I think that religion is a good excuse for war. In 5 years we will have an all-out war against moslims. And the guy responsable is Bush. Don't cry, but he is a cristian too....

Aguagon, I am saddened that you feel that way. You are taking a message and bending just enough to make it seem like Christianity is bad. YOu make it sound like we are FAR too fundamental.

YOu know what, you are right. Same-sex marriage IS WRONG. Abortion IS wrong. IF you think you can believe in either and still be serving God you ARE wrong. Just read the Bible. You cannot be an evolutionist Christian. Not possible. Evolution itself violates various laws of science. YOu cannot be gay and be a Christian. YOu are fooling yourself. They do not coexist.

Fundamentalism isn't wrong. Witnessing until everyone person comes to the light isn't wrong either. I won't stop until everyone is, so we may praise God in one voice.

Do you know who the first Christian Fundamentalists were? They were the Apostles. They went out, and made more apostles. Their deaths were some of the worst in history. Their persecution is timeless. And yet, their voice has carried through eternity.

None of your famous Christians were weak on their beliefs. They were willing to listen to others, but they would be able to destroy any argument. A man with experience is better armed than he who has an argument. There are no famous Christians that believe in same-sex marriages. There are no Christians that will stand the test of time on Earth, let alone eternity, who said abortion was okay. IF there were, they have hopefully come to terms with God and have asked for forgiveness of their sins.

Do you know how many ways Christianity is different that all other religions? Do you realize that Christianity is the only religion in which their God reached for humanity to save them, and in fact died to do so?
Did you know that the Bible says "He hangs the Earth on nothing"? I may not know the exact scripture reference, but I can tell you that this means the Earth simply hangs in space, while most other religions have Earth being suspended by something? Did you know that in GENESIS God says "I will make your descendants as innumerable as the stars", and until Galileo's telescope in the 1500's the could count the stars in the sky?

YOu scoff at us, but I embrace your laughter. I hope you write back, because I want to continue this discussion. I may even change my name to Christian Fundamentalist because I like the idea so much. It THRILLS me to see your interest because I will PRAISE THE LORD when you seek his forgiveness. This "nonsense" may even be what causes your salvation.

I don't know how to put into words what I want to say. I just, it's so hard to sit at this computer and hear people slander god and the bible on other posts I have been on. You are so right Korith, I hear people supporting abortion and same sex marriages, and murder. And I hear all of these people saying things like gods an imaginary person we look up to. People are looking into religion and missing the basis of it.

Atheists have morals. Are you denying this? Many good, honest individuals are Atheist. Morality does not go hand in hand with religion, and it is NOT simply a Christian concept.

I never said people aren't believing in God.

I said they aren't living for him.

Stop critising Christians, not everyone who says Lord means Lord. the bible says that. Remember everyone has to give an account for what they did on Judgement day and not what others did. let Jesus be your example and not people. Remember everyone has to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling. So work it out guys and gals.
Jesus died for us all. All that matters is what u do with Jesus Christ, this world is for now, but eternity is forever. so make your choice.

8/10 they will say "Sure!" then watch what they do or say, and you'll see what I mean.

People think their Christians because they grew up near a church, or went to Sunday school as a kid.

Even the avid church goer tend to forget who they are supposed to be reflecting.
