In science class the past couple of days we have been doing ecology. We've been learning about the environment and everything that happens in it. We are also learning about pollution and all that other stuff. I want to start a recycling program in our school but I don't know where to start. I've been doing research and stuff. I want to present the idea to the principal but I don't want to do that until I'm ready to actually get started. I was wondering if any of you have any advice. If your schools have a program or something could you tell me how your school's program works. Anything about what I'm asking I'll take. Thanks! *Sarah

You might try checking with your local district's Eviromental Protection Agency (or group) for help. They're always willing to halp!

I just wanted ya'll to know that somthing is in the works. Turns out there was a club a few years back called the Green Tree Ecology Club. They recycled and stuff. Me and a friend are trying to get it started again. We already found the perfect sponsor. She teaches environmental science. Now all we have to do is go to the administration.
If you have anymore suggestions I still want to hear them!

well the first thing is adopt a highway other ideas are to pick out a park in your area find out who runs it talk to them, hang up fliers and such and have a clean up day (and if only a few people show up then only a few people clean also you can carry around a ziplock bag in your back pocket and if you see trash just pick it up put it in and throw it away later

Whatever you do...never do it alone!! I'm doing a dress drive at my school and I could never ever do it without the help of my best friend! Talk to the advisor of your student council (if you have a student council) and see the scoop on it! That's a great idea. Grab a friend and talk to an administrator that would be concerned about the issue as much as you are!

First thing is make sure you have all the details pounded out. Make sure you can get from start to finish smoothly.
What are you recycling. How are you going to collect such things. Is anyone going to help you. How often do you collect. Where are you taking them to? What do you need to tell teachers and students about it so it will work? How are you going to tell them and popularize the program? Do you need any kind of special permission? Etc.
It's best to talk to someone about it (a teacher, a parent) so they can ask you questions and help you make sure it is going to work and you have everything in order. Glad you're doing this. Props.

What you do is get a group of your friends together, go to the head of your school (maybe the PTA or the principal to get it approved first), and talk to your parents about getting it started. I'd really love to see that kinf of thing in schools. I always wanted to see something like that. Recycling is a great thing. You go, person!

___What you do is walk around picking up trash and begging strangers to help you out. It's called the "I Care Enough About My Environment To Make A Fool Of Myself Program" or... "ICE AM ET MA FOP" as I like to call it. You'll love it.
