quote: Trees do give us oxygen (duh), but think about the huge percentage of the earth that is made up of water. Water is where we get the majority of our oxygen from. It is sad that we lose so many trees to development though. I love trees. There's lots of places now that when they build they have to find a way to leave as many trees as possible. In Atlanta, GA (other places too I'm sure) you have to get a permit to even cut a tree down. They try to keep as many trees up as possible.
Well I don't think there is a permit where I live. Maybe I should find out and protest if there isn't. America the beautiful is going to end up America the ugly in about 20 years if we don't save the trees. Trees and flowers are the most beautiful things.

quote: They wont make it any less beautiful. You seem to think we are running out of trees. Why? There are plenty of trees. Just get out of whatever city you live in.
I'd love to get out of this city, would you adopt me?(i'm kidding here). In my opinion big sky-scraper like buildings in mass quantity is ugly. I'm not only thinking about the trees here, I am also thinking about our lungs and what big skyscrapers and factories might do to them. I know that alot of people already smoke, which is ruining there lungs, but still.

Yes, but more and more people will move there and destroy the beautifulness. Not say it will be tommorow, or even a week, month or year from now but it will inevitably happen.

Our country is so greedy, all of us are even if we aren't aware of it. We build factories to store our products, we create new businesses to compete with others. We do things for ourselves and our welfare and never think about the animals that are suffering, or the fact that we will be suffering if we don't stop cutting down trees.

But what would I think if I was in your situation? I would be pissed and probably move away from any big city.

Not where I live. The one thing our community is obsessed about is beautifying it and so there are about a million trees anywhere that they can grow. Admittedly, its not like this everywhere, but its note worthy that there are places making an effort.
