You say you're 17. Your profile says you're 15. Your immaturity says you're three.

You are still young and don't know too much,Tupac is pretty easy to understand.. If you ever talk to anyone who REALLY is into hiphop they wont give him much credit. You want REAL poetry? go look up some REAL poets.

-----------------

Rebound
rotten
reproductive organs
fall lifelessly off of the heavy branch
and onto the
wet and saturated
loose
and accepting soil
next to all of its rejected comrades

rude smiles
appear when we
pick up these fruits
and make a pie
out of rejection
yummy
soft and bruised
way past ripe
waiting patiently
between crusts
waiting to be devoured

Sam A Lucero

-------

See if you can figure out the non literal meaning behind it. Wink

oh yeah that might be too hard.. so here is another one by steppin wolf - the pusher

----------

You know I smoked a lot of grass.
I popped a lot of pills.
But I've never touched nothin'
That my spirit couldn't kill.
You know I've seen a lot of people walking 'round
With tombstones in their eyes.
But the pusher don't care
If you live -- or if you die.
God Damn! The pusher.
God damn the pusher man.
You know the dealer, the dealer is a man
With a lump of grass in his hand.
But the pusher is a monster
Not a natural man.
The dealer for a nickel
Goin to sell you lots of sweet dreams.
Ah...but the pusher will ruin your body;
Lord he'll leave your mind to scream.
God damn the pusher.
I said God Damn! God damn the pusher man.
Well now if I were the president of this land
You know I'd declare total war on the pusher man.
I'd cut him if he stands, and I'd shoot him if he run,
And I'd kill him with my bible, and my razor and my gun....
GOD DAMN! The pusher

--------------------

do you know who the pusher is?

Let me put it this way...do you really know anything about him? his life? His songs? his poems? If you do, and you know the true meanings of everything he is saying then you will know where I'm coming from.

quote:
You are drunk and you are surly
In Latino lover mode
We all know what's on your agenda
We'ver broken the code

I've got no right to lay claim to her frame
She's not my possession
You cünt

Get your hands off my woman mother****er
Get your hands off my woman mother****er

Message? Keep your hands the **** away from any woman Justin Hawkins' girlfriend, you ****.

he has more then one message....
Like then one about the rose...
quote:
You see you wouldn't ask why the rose that grew from the concrete had damaged petals
On the contrary
We would all celebrate its tenacity
We would all love its will to reach the sun
Well
We are the roses
This is the concrete
And these are my damaged petals
Don't ask me why
Thank god
Ask me how
-Tupac Shakur

No matter where you grew up, you can make it out. he's saying we're not going to be amazed at only the problems, but we're going to be amazed at where he grew up, what he did to get away from these problems.

rewind.....just because I like Tupac doesn't mean I dont like other types of music.
and as for you Confettikiss, you have a point. I do see what the persona the media made for him. But I look past it. I look at the meaning in his words and poems. I look at his life, I look at the message he is tried to get across...and the messages he still is getting across

And you don't? Unless you are Tupac's own mother, all you know about Tupac comes from the media too.

Actually, we just like different kinds of music. Like Enigma:

"Long ago, for many years
White men came in the name of GOD.
They took their land, they took their lives
A new age has just begun.

They lost their GODS, they lost their smile
They cried for help for the last time.
Liberty was turning into chains
But all the white men said
That's the cross of changes"

Well, you've got to admire a man who's been dead for awhile, yet STILL manages to produce albums with other artists, like Notorious B.I.G., who is also pretty dead.

There's a kid in my religious ed class who we call Tupac.

"Last year, there was this kid at my school who kept telling everyone that Tupac wasn't dead."
That's what this kid keeps saying. It IS weird...
