Do u believe in God or evenmore so heaven and hell?? I was just wondering because i am very open minded and believe God created us. I believe if u believe in him you will live in heaven. It sounds far fetched but really i belive someone created us. See you can call me foul names because your so offended that i believe in this ridicule me all u want but i will still believe.

See i will explain what i believe i believe God i put him in the sense as a student who wasss given an assignment to create a universe.

He had to make it all the way down to the tiniest microscopic atom. He made us with intellect and with a perfect nature and freedom.

But he had mutlipilled his creation so much he need help so he made angels to take care of us but one of his angels his head angel lucifer wanted to be as powerful as God so God sent him to hell were he is ruler .

But God also gave him power on earth to test us after we failed God he took away our sense of perfection we r now imperfect. So now that we God not see our creator for he is so perfect he sent his son , in this sense his partner in the porject in to this world.

Where he spoke of God and taught us moral rights and how to dignify God. bUT HE HAD TO DIE FOR US .So he did and now who ever believes will go to heaven to remain forever and after the rapture which will come soon.

Those who believe will become leaders in the brand new world. And they will be perfect.

So do u believe me or dont believe any of this.

Yeah, I'm with spooner on this too. I don't care whether or not people believe there is a God. However, I do care what comes out of the conflict between both sides, one supporting God and the other evolution. Sometimes feelings are hurt, and worse, lives are lost. Really not worth it considering we'll never know of God's existance until we're dead.

I think it's okay for people to believe in god. I also think it's okay for people to be aetheists. I only think it's wrong when either party starts getting intolerant of the other. Just try to remember people, there were times when christians were persecuted for their beliefs and then there were times when non-Chrisitans were.

Just recently have I accepted God into my life. Before I started having faith in my religion I tried to make myself believe that there were no such thing, and it was all just people TELLING me that I had to believe in God and go to church, pray ... I always sometimes doubted my religion, and just recently have I prayed to God for forgiveness. For forgiveness of my doubts of him and heaven and for not believing. Ever since I found Christ my days have been filled with more happiness than ever before. I've been able to speak more to people and have the confidence in myself that I couldn't find before.

werd. except i am a Christian. or atleast raised as one.

i like to believe in the kind of afterlife shown in The Lovely Bones.
for anyone who hasn't read that book, you should. Its beautiful. depressing, but beautiful.

Nah son.

And btw, devie747, if you look at the dates on posts, you can see that this thread hasn't been posted in since 2004. And considering the thread starter only has 45 posts, he/she probably doesn't even come here anymore. So check the date of the thread before you post.

i believe in a god. I beleive in Poco Ennui, the Great Tiny God of Many Annoyances. I am High Priestess. He requires you to annoy all, and pray by eating brownies and playing heavy metal music. If you defy him, or you're just there, he will dig into your brain and eat your thoughts, leaving you brainless and very stupid, plus now he knows your deepest, darkest secrets.

Don't say that it's stupid, because it's a religion. It's a religion for me only, me and Wiggins, who eats dog treats instead of brownies because he's a dog.

Oh, and I'm a humanist/athiest, but I'm also a poco ennuist, because with His Annoyingness you're allowed to be both.

I'm proud of my religion.

God is often erroneously conceived as an entity, I would contend that God is not a being, but being itself (I do not personally believe in God, but I am saying this based on the assumption that God does exist). Hence, it seems to be that to become "one with God" you are becoming one with a state of being that is perfection. Immanuel Kant would probably find fault with this claim however, for him 'existence' is not a predicate.

Additionally, it seems that whatever form we take God to be, God cannot exist within this universe, and must exist outside of it. My reasoning is as follows: God is conceived as have the property of Transcendence, i.e. God is above and independent of the material universe. Therefore, God must be independent of this universe. This also seems to support the idea that God cannot be an entity (at least not a material one). Additionally, since God is thought to be perfect, his existence in this universe seems to be a contradiction.

I believe that there is a God/Godess/Gods, but I dont call him/her Christ or Jesus.

I think we were created by something, but in truth, none of us are sure about it.

I was a Catholic, when I was 11, but I had enough of it when I saw that priests raped kids, and the nuns hated me at school because I did not think like them, and because I wrote fantasy novels. I never felt right in a Christian church, I always felt like I was locked up from being me, like I was in this iron bubble that in no way was like myself. I felt that we should be free, and our lives not ruled by the Ten Commandments. I felt that I should not think I was going to hell because I sinned, because I thought all people are human, and thus entitled to screw up every once in a while. I felt hurt when priets/nuns/other Christians scolded me when I told tehm about my opinions. I hated thinking that was going to be an apocalypse, and that there was the Devil. I was 12 when I began to feel this way. Then, at that same age, I couldnt stand thinking that the men who raped my innocent self were Christian (in which case I dont mean Christians are rapists, but I dont think anyone should lie and say that they are good followers of their religion to then rape).

Then I discovered the faith that matched myself most (after extensive researching), New Age.

And I'm really pissed off at an article on Newsweek about priests looking at internet porn. That was recent though.

actually the bible as a whole wasn't canonized until the fourth century a.d..... don't make up facts.

this topic is a good one, but quite pointless to debate considering most people only know their side of the argument and don't give a poop about what the other side says. don't try to force your beliefs on each other, if people want to remain uneducated that's their own problem. that goes for christians and non. i am very strong in my conservative christian beliefs, but i'm not going to remain uneducated in the other theories and ideas that are in the world. truth can be tested without failing, so don't be afraid to test what you have believed or choose to believe.

Christianity along with your precious Evolution has to be accepted by faith because no documentation has ever been made meaning no one was there to witness it ! so how do u kno it happened you just have to have faith! and you can say science but truly it comes down to evolution is a theory that came around when charlse darwin made it up , christianity with my precious bible-stephanie has been along for about 6 thousand years.
