I am really sick and tired of all these stereotypes of a virgin.
I know about how they are made fun of and insulted and questioned but i'm talking about how they are stereotyped.
By some stupid society rule, virgins aren't aloud to dance really good at clubs, they can't wear sexy clothing, they can' break any rules, they can't do anything "naughty" just becuase they are virgins!
This drives me insane. I HATE it when people see me dance with guys and act real sexy and then go up to me and say "Geez, i thought you were a VIRGIN."
Since when did the word "virgin" become synonomous with the term "innocent little church girl"?

Well i have never really heard of it, but it is possible. I am a virgin and no one really cares...i live CT. Where does everyone here live? (like only states, don't give too much away) Cause i have went to a city CT school and a Country one and both seem not to be much different it really didn't matter and you were respected for being what you want to be. But i did notice a differance in the country it seems they are more jugded there but not sterotyped. I am interested inthis because it only really shows how much more we all have to work at diversity. Tell me all what you think....-Americus

You all are talking as if virgins are some kind of special people different from everyone else. Sex is an act it doesn’t change that much unless you really want it to. We are all people, virgin and non. Do what you want and don’t let others (who know little to nothing about you) influence what you do and how you act. Be yourself... in the words of Dr Sues: Be who you are, for those that mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind. ~Alex~

Rock on girl. . .whether or not your a virgin you have the right as a human being to do what you want to do....whether or not it is right is something that you will have to decide and no one else. no one else has the right to tell you how you should be. as the Dr.Pepper commercial says "Be you and do what you wanna do" **Piper**

yea, there's this like joke that virgins are loosers. well, in my mind the real loosers are people who have sex with someone they dont really like just to loose it, or while they are drunk... i mean how sad is that.
i by no means act like a "Virgin". I do the dirty dancing and tease and do those daring things that virgins aren't supposed to go, yet i am one and i will be one for as long as i feel like it. i will only go as far with a guy as i want, and i will continue to act the way i do for as long as i want.
who cares what those loosers think? people who poke fun at virgins are either insecure virgins themselves or had a bad or lame expirience and want others to fall into the pit with them.

Why care what others think? I mean you know who you are and what you stand for and believe in. I dont see why reputation means so much to people. I could careless what people think about me. People say I am a flirt and a ditz and all kinds of things. But why does what they think matter? Yea it can be annoying to have people stereotype you but if you let yourself get angry brcasause of what they say then they win! And the way you react to what they say gives them reason to believe what they believe about you. Thats what I think. Caiside

i dont think that we virgins should act any certain way or dress any certain way. given that most dont dance or dress like christina aguilra but that is the choice of each individual person. just like someone sexually active doesn't have to wear something revealing, virgins don't have to dress like nuns. everything depends upon the individual, granted that if you don't want everyone to think you are '****y', you wouldn't want to dress that way. you should dress the way you want people to see you because no matter what anyone says, everyone makes judgements about people on their apperance, dress conservative if thats the way you want to be seen, ext. ext.

I'm not saying that i make any "suggestive" dancing movements.
Just the fact that i'm a good dancer makes people automatically question my virginity?
Is THAT fair?
And if i break some rules, dis-obey my parents, then i OBVIOUSLY can't be a virgin either. I want to get a tattoo when i turn 18 and people would DEFINETELY question my virginity then! oh gasp! The virgin with a tattoo?
I just don't think that's right. Just because i'm rebellious in certain areas, doesn't mean i will be in others.

Over here if your a virgin then that means your easy and it gives a guy a sign to suddenly hit on you so they could be the one that actually makes you the little bad girl instead of the little good girl that you once was.
Not saying every guy over here is like this but some are.
Bye N Have a nice day

I'm a virgin and I know how you feel. If you can dance and dress like everybody else than you can't be a virgin. I'm really flexable because I strech and run everyday so everybody thinks that I must have had sex with ten guys cuz I'm flexable. I'm tired of sterotypes. I can be just like everybody else and keep my legs close.

Hello again Pizaz, As a guy I don't really have that problem, but I still wouldn't want to do anything that would make anyone think otherwise. The way I see it as a guy is you don't want to ruin it for that girl or her future husband. You have to respect them, you know. You can dress how you want, and you can dance like you want, though I wouldn't suggest doing any suggestive dance moves those just make me realize how sexually oriented our whole society is and I will not be a part of it. After all, as Christains we are supposed to be God's peculiar people. Ultimately this choice is yours, make it a good one.
Anyway...you probably think I'm some kindove freak O guy now,but whatever.
Peace Silverstreak

If you're a virgin, why would you want to do something that might suggest to others that you're not? I want to protect my reputation.

I don't think that you should act in any "special" way if you are a virgin. Just be yourself. That's what I do and so far I haven't had any problems.

I'm a virgin and no one really stereo-types me. I mean, if I dance "dirty" once in a while people might suspect for me to not be but they don't say anything. People who are virgins usually don't dance like that. If they feel well enough to preserve themselves why dance so suggestively at school?
