Guys, have you seen or heard about this "new" movement seeking to attract 20,000 fed up libertarians/conservatives/independents and move to a "free state?" More than likely, because of its government, hardly any taxes and other stats, New Hampshire will be picked as the state (I hope at least). Anyway, to get more younger people involved in it, I thought it'd be cool to post the website link and the forum link - that way, if you people are really, really fed up with this BS we're having to live with here, we can ALL move to New Hampshire haha. http://www.freestateproject.orghttp://forum.freestateproject.org/If I can afford it, I would like to move up there for maybe two, three years...just to really get involved politically or something. Something to look into.

Wait, wait, wait, you guys are totally blowing everything out of proportion here and jumping to conclusions. The Free State Project is not about secession, is not about breaking away from anything, and is not about violence at all. It's simply a plan to bring 20,000 Libertarians/small-government, limited taxes supporting-Constitutionalists to one state (New Hampshire) to KEEP the taxes low, government small, etc. In case you were not aware, the taxes and government in New Hampshire is SMALL. The population is small. That's the only freedom-loving state we have left in this country (i.e., their motto is the Live Free or Die state). The only chaos that would ensue would be if people started going ape crazy over "secession"! Which, again, is NOT anywhere near one of the goals of this movement. Pay attention to the plans, not your own conclusions: http://www.freestateproject.orgThere's a FAQ that will tell you plenty, without making you guys - or me - look completely uninformed.

I heard about that! I personally think it is a bad idea, and would lead to chaos.

You cannot simply seperate one state from the rest! WHAT ABOUT THE wars this country fought to keep it toghether. I know things may be hard for those who are impacient of their freedoms i share your feelings but segergation is not the answer! You will seperate yourself form the rest of the country for what? You think this will bring new ideas around? This will lead to violence of verbal and phyical traits. Please reconsider your ideas on this issue. If you truly care about this country then you will want to fight for all states to be like that instead of just making one and leaving it like that. Do we need this to come between us too? We must WORK TOGETHER! tomorrow is only as far as we make it. Please remember this. bless all. -Katz

So anyone interested at all in taking up the initiative and moving to some place free of oppressive taxes and social restrictions?

Actually, right now I'm planning to attend a university down here in Texas (U of North Texas), and assuming I win the school board election in May, I'd attend school, serve one three-year term, and then seriously consider moving.
I'd still like to at least visit NH first, though.
And you're right, they do have good schools. In gorgeous areas too.

Glad New Hampshire won. Good state. Already has the right motto.
Good colleges too, I think. So will you be moving soon?

New Hampshire won! So now the FSP will be concentrating on attracting (mainly younger) people to become educated in the fact that our country is becoming more and more Communist everyday, and that the only real solution to actually live in freedom is to move with 20,000 other liberty-lovers to this northeastern-most state! No sales taxes, no state income tax, a people-first 400-member state legislature, beautiful scenery, and yes, the most Libertarian Party members holding public office. Just face it, people, our country - America - is great, but it's becoming more and more and more Communist. More regulations. More taxes. More government. Go FSP! http://www.freestateproject.orgLiberty in our Lifetime!

Tonight is the BIG night! The national FSP leaders will be meeting in New York City to decide which state all these liberty-loving, freedom-fighter Libertarians will be moving to. I'm planning to attend the Dallas FSP chapter meeting tonight to take pictures and stuff. But for more information about the FSP, visit: http://www.freestateproject.orgor http://forum.freestateproject.org
