Bring back the helmets!
When they passed the law that people had to wear helmets on their motorcycles, some people got mad. With enough arguement they threw away the law because people said, "They are pushing their fashion on us!" It is not anything about fashion, its about us not wanting them dead. Motorcycle accidents mostly result in death. Why wouldn't you want to protect yourself from death? Many young lives are lost because they wore no helmet or a protective jacket (helps from road burns and peeling of skin.) Today January 5, 2008 i witnissed a motor accident. It was around 5:20 pm and i was heading out with mom to pick up my brother. The weather was rainy and the pavement was slippery. Two young women were on motorcycles two spaces ahead of our car. I wouldn't have payed much attention if i hadn't heard the car ahead of me screech to a hault. Also my mom scream "oh my!!" as i saw a motorcycle fly up and a girl fall off and skid. People rushed to her and feared worst, that she was dead. But God made it a miracle, she was alive. It was only because she wore a helmet and jacket. I thanked God. I hope they bring back the helmet law

If we're required to wear a seatbelt in a car for safety, why shouldn't motorcyclists be required to wear a helmet for safety? The seatbelt ruins my "look" too you know .

I do not agree with controlling people even for their own safety because that leads down a very dangerous road but if you did it on the sense that they were costing money to the state and endangering the lives of others would be a good law. But their argument on the fact that it denied them their fashion freedom is idiotic. The difficulty would be convincing people who hadn't been in an accident those that had been would support because it saved their lives. So you could bring out the argument that if they denied the law they would be killing people.
When all is lost there's nothing to keep you from leaving and getting coffee.
