Yes military laws are different. Now im not sure what state he is in, but as long as the state laws approve then I believe 16 is the youngest. But keep in mind how hard it is to survive in a military marriage. I am in the military and I would say that about 70% of young married couples end in divorce. Im not saying it cant be done, Im just saying make sure you are ready for what you are about to get into. Its a lot harder than you might thing. I would advise you guys to take some kind of pre-marriage counseling. good luck and remeber marriage is forever.

To be completely frank, the best thing to do would be to wait until you're 18. You would save yourself an awful lot of bureaucratic hassle.

In the meantime, I would recommend you watch the TV show Army Wives on Lifetime on Sunday nights. My cousin is in the Marines, and according to his wife, it's pretty accurate...

So I've asked two people-- one pre-law and one in the navy. The pre-law person says the age of consent for military is 16. However, the person in the navy says that it's 18, and you have to get marriages approved. The best thing to do is to have your boyfriend talk to his superiors and find out what it is.
