ok hey every 1 im 13 and dating a 16 year old. My mom does'nt no i'm dating him "yet". well i've been looking around the internet to see if it was illegal.. so is illegal for him to be dating me??. O and not to b mean but this isnt an opinion Question i need to no if it is really illegal. Trina
1st of all- i don't think its illegal 2nd- you r too young to be dating; don't waste your pre-teen years on dating guys and worrying about sex and making-out and all of that other crap. and if ur afraid to tell ur mom, mabey its not a good idea for u to be dating him. and if he really likes you he will wait until you are in high school to date
i think it depends what u do together. if you're just spending time together then they can't really stop you, but if it's sexual then it's probably illegal. i live in Canada though, so the law might be different here.

someone has allready said a lot of ppl have hurt themselfs over this law ! its really stupid how its diffrent in every state it should at least be the sam in eveery state .its rediculious how they can try to stop ppl from dating and how some how the have the right to try to keep ppl away from eachother i live in a really small town in texas ..and the police really crack down on the crap here.i dont see why its such a big deal ive torn my self apart looking for the awnser to my questin but ever site ive been to says something diffrent. i wish i could just get the facts!~

i think that the only time lovers should be stopped is when one is like 40 and the other in their teens.... because that is just gross. the oldest guy that i have ever liked is 6 years older than me. but were just friends and he is going to become a priest any ways and priests aren't allowed to marry. but i mean if you are in love nothing should stop you.
depends on the people. honestly, 13 is a liiittle too young to be dating an 18 year old, but if both can handle the relationship maturely, then it's fine. but absolutely NO sexual aspects. that's illegal and the 18 year old can be put in jail, so just keep these things in mind.
How do these people even find out you had sexual contact. All I know is that no one has ever caught me in the act or anything like that at all so it just floors me how people just find out. it's called keeping it on the dl ppl.
well i am 15 and i was dating a 20yr old he just turned 21 so they through him in jail because we had sexual contact. 13 and 16 arent so bad but as soon as the 16 yr old turns 17 i would be careful because they could through himm in jail just for holding your hand or even talking to you. if the person loves you they will wait to . the law sucks i know that is why i am not with bryan.
gah i think i might have bitten off more than i can handle i like a girl and shes 15 the problem is im 18 good thing is we live in 2 differnt states bad thing is i miss her.
Okayy so I'm getting really annoyed with the people who say "13 and 17 is illegal because of the difference." Look, it's not illegal to date. Once someone is over I believe 18, and someone else is under 16 they have to have a parents consent, but all states have a different age for sexual things in a relationship. Most states right now, the legalized age for sexual content in a relationship is 16-23. Dating is not at all illegal for anything anywhere you go. Now, don't start saying "oh so are you saying a 53 tear old can date a 13 year old". Don't jump on my case because I'm giving the facts. I'm not saying it's right, but I'm saying yes, it's allowed as long as there is no sexual content. I looked deeply into this subject not to long ago because I am 14 dating an 18 year old. It's legal for us to date, but until the day I turn 16 we are not legalized to do anything sexual. So there is an answer for you. I know a lotttt on this subject. Gots anymore questions??

I think being in a reltionship with someone a LOT older than is a definant NO NO! you are both in a different state of mind as the older person has had more experience of life. I have many friends who are saying that they are going out people who are 6-8 year older then them and i think thats fine,its their decision. But to have someone who thinks how you think, feel how you feel makes the relationship sooo much better and more worth it.
There are no rules on being in a non sexual relationship with people older than you but you will be known as a perve.
Yeah I'm sorry but if you're 18 and you date someone who is 13. That's a little effed up. Not because of the age difference but because of the mentality difference...
