ok hey every 1 im 13 and dating a 16 year old. My mom does'nt no i'm dating him "yet". well i've been looking around the internet to see if it was illegal.. so is illegal for him to be dating me??. O and not to b mean but this isnt an opinion Question i need to no if it is really illegal. Trina

Okay im 14 and dating a guy who is 17 and will turn 18, 27 days before i turn 15...I live in South Dakota does any1 know the dating laws?

Yeah I'm sorry but if you're 18 and you date someone who is 13. That's a little effed up. Not because of the age difference but because of the mentality difference...

ok well its really nice to know that ppl r in the same situation and i was able to actually find them ! the law isnt really a good thing like someone has allready said a lot of ppl have hurt themselfs over this law ! its really stupid how its diffrent in every state it should at least be the sam in eveery state .its rediculious how they can try to stop ppl from dating and how some how the have the right to try to keep ppl away from eachother i live in a really small town in texas ..and the police really crack down on the crap here.i dont see why its such a big deal ive torn my self apart looking for the awnser to my questin but ever site ive been to says something diffrent. i wish i could just get the facts!~

ok well i have the sme problem as many of yoou do im 13 and im 100%in love with an 18 year old ive been trying to get as much imformation on the topic as i can ..so if yoou have anyplz tell me and here another question can he only go to jail if parents press charges?

um i pretty sure the law says 36 months but i'm not sure if that's everywhere in the united states. for sure in texas though.

umm...im not sure,I think its when if he's over 18 and your not. I dont really know. But I think I like a 17 yr old guy and im only 13..bout to turn 14..and im pretty sure he likes me.he's going to be a senior and me a freshman. but I've been thinking about this too.

well im not sure about the canadian laws but in the states its 4 year differance (if one person is 18 or older) with parental consent as long as nothing involving sex or sexual in nature its legal i think it might be the same in canada

Okay, so I'm currently 15 years old and I live in small town in Canada (populationa round 5000).
There's this guy I like and want to date, the thing is he is 21 and going to be turing 22 in June, personally I don't have a problem with age differance and hes really nice and im not just saying get-in-your-pants-nice. Now most people would be weired out but the thing is he is Christian and we've already talked about sex and he doesnt want it and he said he wouldnt do anyting to make me feel uncomfortable and understands my beliefs. Also, my mother is fine with me dating him in the furture. What I was just wondering would it be considered illegal just to date him without sex (i don't want it yet)?

im 14. dating a 18 year old and turnin 15 next month. everyone is like givin me shit. yea i get hes an adult. Were also both bipolar and in love. SOO much. i cant lose this one. not again..... ♥

Elpidia69, I don't really get what you mean when you say your just "messing" around with him It sounds like your just useing him for sexs.
But anyways, When he does turn 21 it really shouldn't be a problem,
People should be allowed to date anyone they want.

its not illegal...if u were 13 and he was 17 then thats illegal...i always date someone whose older than me so i had to find out what i was doin b4 i got myself into anything crazy...like im 17 now nd im messing with someone whose 20 but wen he turns 21 its a problem for us...

There could be restrictions but I'm not sure. It should not matter about the age it's up to the individuals who they choose to date, it should not be up to the law.
