um i pretty sure the law says 36 months but i'm not sure if that's everywhere in the united states. for sure in texas though.

well im not sure about the canadian laws but in the states its 4 year differance (if one person is 18 or older) with parental consent as long as nothing involving sex or sexual in nature its legal i think it might be the same in canada

Okay, so I'm currently 15 years old and I live in small town in Canada (populationa round 5000).
There's this guy I like and want to date, the thing is he is 21 and going to be turing 22 in June, personally I don't have a problem with age differance and hes really nice and im not just saying get-in-your-pants-nice. Now most people would be weired out but the thing is he is Christian and we've already talked about sex and he doesnt want it and he said he wouldnt do anyting to make me feel uncomfortable and understands my beliefs. Also, my mother is fine with me dating him in the furture. What I was just wondering would it be considered illegal just to date him without sex (i don't want it yet)?

Are you sure that the laws are against dating and not just sex?

There could be restrictions but I'm not sure. It should not matter about the age it's up to the individuals who they choose to date, it should not be up to the law.

My problem is the dating laws of Wisconsin. To me there is no problem in age differences unless you’re 13 or younger. When your 14 or older you should be wise enough to whomever you want to date To me and other people they should loosen up the law so 14 teens are aloud to pick who they want to date. It should be their decision on which to date, it’s Wrong to tell someone who they should and shouldn’t date.
The reason why I think this is so wrong is because girls and boys have abused themselves because of this law. People shouldn’t be doing things to themselves over a law. If people could really think about this, The Governor should realize how much depression he’s putting on the young teenagers by not letting them be with the ones they love.
My Solution is the government either take down this law or change it.
reason why I'm saying all this? It's becuase Belive it or not. Girls mostly Abuse themselfs or even end up killing themselfs over this :P

im 17 and i was wondering..my mom already said she consents for me to be with someone who is 25. Is it still illegal even if i have my parents consent?
