quote: i mean the laws and choices of our goverment effect them even when their in jail. they have all the rights if not more then us when their in jail.
MORE rights in jail? The whole point is that they have committed a crime against society as a whole. In doing so they have broken the unspoken pact that all humans living under our system live by. They've forfeited thier right to control a large part of thier lives in doing so.

Agreed. You give up some rights for life when you commit certain crimes, and voting should be one of them. The problem is, we don't take away ENOUGH rights ... which is why some of these guys profit from their crimes.
Liberals prefer equality - all people should be equally poor, unsafe and badly-educated.

If they are a citizen, they have a right to vote but if they are in prison then they shouldn't be able to. Felons are people too.

I'm *sure* you meant unfair. And if you did, you're still wrong. That's definitely not what it's called.

I believe that while in prison, the right to vote should be suspended. Once they have served thier term, and have then (legally at least) paid for thier crime, the right is restored. Taxation does not give you the right to vote, so that doesn't really enter into it.
