Some friends of mine and I are attempting to arrange a Free Speech rally for our school/district/area.

I'm interested in the ideas anyone would have as to speakers to invite.

Also, has anyone done anything like this before and have any tips to share?

we need to come up with a main theme, at the moment.

have lots of hot dog stands. This attracts the public. Then in order for the public to sit down and eat their hot dogs, they will then listen to your riouts, and join. So by making them eat, they are happily fed, and also on your side. It dosent work unless they are on your side

we're trying to get the type of politicians (e.g. third parties) to come speak because, basically, all we ever hear is the republicans (democrats, mildly. i don't think my state has voted democrat since the 1800's, if at all)

also, we're trying to arrange an open-mike type thing there for kids to say what they want to say. most kids at my school barely realize that there IS a world, and we're trying to promote that.

basically, a friend of mine and I asked our government teacher if she could invite some third-party people to talk. she said if we wanted to hear them, we'd have to arrange it, so we are trying to.

Hmm.. Wait, a free speech rally? Like about free speech? That sounds rather ironic. That's not what I thought of when I first read this, but that sounds kind of funny.

I might be interested in this as well, so any advice might help. And if yogore visits this thread, I don't think one is necessary for Worcester. Not as much as my hometown anyway...

Well I think the first key issue is this: Why do you think a free speech rally is needed? How are your rights being infringed?
