I've found that both inside this website and in the real world, Republicans think they're so right, and so high above every body else! Why? What gives them the right to feel that way?
It's one thing to feel right about a brand of clothing, or pets or something!! But when it comes to things like politics, there is no right or wrong, it's what bests suits the nation and it's people. The course of action that is taken to better the nation as a whole. (I hope i explained that right...)
Anyway, this is my rant... I'm not trying to oust anyone who is republican, I'm just trying to understand where all this ego comes from?!?!? They have nothing be proud about!!!! (In my personal opinion anyway...)

Actually, I've learned loads more on this site than I've been debating. When I first came to this site, I was a pretty stron liberal, but now I find myself more of a centrist. I think without people in general having strong opinions, nothing would be debated. It'd be boring on these boards. Absolutely boring! Yes that goes for the republicans too. Although everyone needs to keep an open mind...

If ever there was a case of the proverbial pot calling the kettle black, Nightingale15's takes the cake. That one deserves to be framed. With some exceptions such as abortion, Republicans don't feel the need to micromanage people's lives, while Democrats/liberals generally do.
That said, Jookly is correct on all points in this case: There are plenty of people with strong opinions on both sides. Having a strong opinion while being able to back up your point with facts isn't necessarily bad, but I would also add that there are plenty of ignorant people with strong opinions, and that is inexcusable.

I think its important for everyone to have different views-its one of our freedoms and Americans. But when people disgregard what you have to say completely based on what party you belong to, it gets out of hand. Sure, I'm not going to lie, I've done it myself before; I'm sure most people have. I wish that for just once politicians, our country's leaders, and even kids could have a debate WITHOUT debating someone because they are of different party and debate over facts rather than opinions.

I dont know. Have you ever thought however that you might see the same being done by any person if your views disagreed with theirs? I dont think this is an issue of republicans vs. democrats it is an issue of people having strong oppinions. This I think is kind of exagerated on this website because people come here to be vocal about oppinions. I can see how it would bother you sometimes but personally, I don't see the point in having an oppinion if im not willing and able to defend it. That is not to say you should be closed minded, it means you should have done your research ahead of time and not drawn a false conclusion. Of course it is a little bit different with polotics because it can affect us tremendously. It isnt like arguing about socks and grapefruits. It is arguing who we want for president or what we want our government to do. The short answer could have been: Because people are passionate about politics.
