Seeing as how I just came up for a potentially new term used in psychology on another board, I would like the opportunity to elaborate.
In a possible news article:
New Term for the Politically Challenged
Political Identity Disorder, or PID, has now entered American lingo by way of internet forums and by a specific member on a site YouthNOISE.com, named "freedomordeath".
In response to our questions, he says that the majority of the reason is because most Americans don't know who, let alone what, they stand for in the very firm two-party system.
"I just feel there are many people out there in America that not only do not understand what each party's platforms are, but that a large portion of American citizens don't pay attention and become confused as well," freedomordeath remarked this Saturday.
Although the movement for the phrase to be put into dictionaries and various medical and law books, it will most likely remain as a lay term in our society.

Darn it! Even my parents have PID. What's wrong with our country?!
