Let me first start by saying that that was one of the greatest speeches I had ever heard before. I’ve said Bush looks like Reagen and is basically another Reagen. Last night was basically a Reagen.
The way he took on big issues with big dreams and planned to change them, the whole emotional scene with the women, starting with domestic policy, ending on a soaring note. It was all very very Reagenseque.
Even the people who rather dislike Bush had many positive things to say about the speech. The media has been universally positive on his speech.
He challenged democrats in a way not seen since Reagen. He dared them to stop his Judicial Nominees.
He called out Syria, Iran, and even countries like Saudi Arabia and Egypt and said. “Wake up! We are spreading freedom. Get with democracy!”
It was so emotional so full of power.
He has the credibility to call out said countries because he kicked butt in Afghanistan and Iraq and those countries know that America now makes good on their word.
If this had been Bill Clinton, who threatened everyone but never did anything, then Syria and Iran would not have listened. Because they would know that Clinton wouldn’t actually do anything.

Bush knows that freedom is within reach in the Middle East; something that no one thought possible. Something that no one thought could happen is now becoming reality. Bush knows the Iranians are coming near to a freedom revolution. That is why he said, “If you stand for freedom, America will stand with you.” And once the Iranians see how well Iraq is faring under a free government, that’s just what they might do. The Iranians have revolted before and they will not hesitate to do it again. I am confident of it.

The democrats are floundering. As Zell Miller would put it, they are, “A National Party no More.” Who do they look to in their party? Who? Howard Dean?! Ya lets all get up and start screaming at the top of our lungs our ideals. We saw how effective that was in Deans’ presidential campaign. Their party is gone. They have no plans for anything. It’s the Bush plan or nothing. Social Security? The Bush plan or do nothing. Iraq War? The Bush plan or do nothing. Economy? The Bush plan or nothing.
Bush is not competing against another ideal. He is competing against nothing and Bush is pushing that advantage in a Republican Congress.
Case in point, the Dems don’t want to do anything about the SS crisis.
I got a letter yesterday from John Kerry the SENATOR. He said that Bush is trying to “throw the nation into a panic.” The system will start to fail within THIRTEEN YEARS!. That is not panicking! He is alerting the nation to a potential crisis that can be averted, if we take steps now to stop it. Like preempting a war. You prevent American casualties by taking out the threats to them. You prevent a Social Security Crisis by reforming the system.

Back to the whole State of the Union. I thought the part where the Iraqi woman and the Marine Mom hugged was so symbolic, so emotional, so powerful that it moved many Americans and got them off that hair-brained idea that the Riaqis never wanted freedom.
That Iraqi woman was shaking because she knew that her mission in liberating Iraq had finally occurred. That hug, that emotion cannot be staged.

Condoleeza Rice is in Syria as we speak. Can you imagine how much diplomatic and political leverage she has right now? All she has to do is look the Syrians in the eye and say, “Times have changed. Americans now keep their word.”

Iraq is not the end of Bush’s foreign policy. Mark My words. Just as tax cuts are not he end of Bush’s domestic policy Iraq is not the last of the War on Terror.
Bush might stop Jack and John from getting married. He might even PRIVIATISE SS!
Do you know why the democrats don’t want this? Because, under the current system, all SS money goes to a government fund where the democrats can have control over it and spend it.
If it were privatized, they would no longer have that power and control over that money. Interesting Fact. Senators and Congressmen actually have a plan similar to the one Bush is proposing for all Americans. Why don’t the liberals want the rest of the American people to have the same system they do? Because they like spending money they shouldn’t spend.

“Unpopular and Unprincipled Demagogues”

The Democratic Response was nothing less than an unmitigated disaster for the democrats. They made fools out of themselves.
Sen. Harry Reid’s “small town story” and his “good ol’ fashioned morals” bit were all pathetic attempts to appeal to the American people. But the Public isn’t buying this sad attempt for their votes are they? The American People will no longer be played for fools now that they know the truth about the extremist media and the left-wing whacko party known as the Democratic Party.
They have no plan for anything and they cease to function as a credible political party.

Congress is largely Republican. As of this year. if tehre ever was an opportune moment for bush to ush for his policies, it would be this year. only God knows who will and wont stay in office next year.

i find this funny. Democrats have been whining to bush about how he goes after iraq and afghanisan and he leaves saudi arabia alone. they accused him of leaving saudia arabia alone because bush "was in bed with the Royal Family". now when bush actually challenges saudi arabia, they start riticizing him for that!

The year of the Elephant? You gotta be kidding. If anything the country is split right down the middle and the congress is basically right down the middle. Also, its Reagan, not Reagen and you call yourself a republican (im just teasing with you red).
