If the US government determines that it is against the law for the words "In God We Trust" to be on our money, then, so be it.

And if that same government decides that the "Ten Commandments" are not to be used in or on a government installation, then, so be it.

I say, "so be it," because I would like to be a law abiding US citizen.

I say, "so be it," because I would like to think that smarter people than I are
in positions to make good decisions.

I would like to think that those people have the American public's best
interests at heart.

BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D LIKE?

Since we can't pray to God, can't Trust in God and cannot post His Commandments in Government buildings, I don't believe the Government and its employees should participate in the Easter and Christmas celebrations which honor the God that our government is eliminating from many facets of American life.

I'd like my mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter. After all, it's just another day.

I'd like the US Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas, Good Friday,
Thanksgiving & Easter as well as Sundays. After all, it's just another day.

I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to worry about getting home for the "Christmas Break." After all it's just another day.

I'm thinking that a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, if all government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter. It shouldn't cost any overtime! - since those would be just like any other day of the week to a government that is trying to be "politically correct."

In fact....

I think that our government should work on Sundays because, after all, our government says that it should be just another day....

What do you all think?

If this idea gets to enough people, maybe our elected officials will stop giving in to the minority opinions and begin, once again, to represent the 'majority' of ALL of the American people.

SO BE IT!!!

I found this and just thought that everyone might enjoy it. Post on it and share your thoughts.

I have not yet reached my goal, and I am not perfect. But Christ has taken hold of me. So I keep on running and struggling to take hold of the prize. My friends, I don't feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for wha

Its not oppression, it's equallity.

By eliminating the words "In God we trust" The are bringing that religion to the same level as the rest of religions.

You don't see "In Allah we trust" written on dollar bills.

Liberals prefer equality - all people should be equally poor, unsafe and badly-educated.

I don't know where you found this, but this person has very little knowledge of government.

So be it means inaction. It means subservience.

And I'd like to think that if I eat money I'll shit out gold coins. Ain't gonna happen. Unless you *force* it to happen.

When they're at their parties, they are not politicians. They're people. They're not on the clock, and by the Constitution we love so much, they're free to celebrate what they'd like.

And I'd like to see the author of this also work all of those holidays. Go ahead. Ring up that sale, file that paperwork. Don't spend time with your family. Work every day.

I'd like them to be in session all-year round. They make sure that we have to attend school for half the year, and yet they get longer holidays and breaks than we do.

It isn't Christmas break. Honestly, did this person look ANTHING UP before they ranted this crap? They adjourn in October. They have recess for half the month of April. As contrived as that looks, it isn't Easter break.

Yep? Think their government salary for working those three days wouldn't cost an arm and a leg?

And again, Congress CANNOT work then because they adjourn in October.

Until whoever wrote this has a real job, they'll never understand why being able to wake up at 11AM on a Sunday is such a great thing.

A lo hecho, pecho.

Well considering it was put there in 1954 as a morale boost and to seperate us from the "godless commies" I'd like it removed, thanks.

U.S. Constitution Says:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Good for you. Have a cookie.

That's a bit naive, but think what you'd like.

See above.

However seeing as both of those have their roots in Pagan holidays that predate them by a few thousand years, as well as the fact that both have been thouroughly secularized at this point and are celebrated as non-religious holidays by non-religious people, your argument fails.

However to do so would be to infringe on the rights of several religious groups by forcing them to work on what they consider holy days. The religions cry foul, the constitution's provision against the government favoring or infringing upon any religion is brought up, and suddenly the flaw in this argument is really, really obvious.

Also, the government's job is clearly to protect the majority over minorities- seeing as blacks are slaves, women can't vote, and only rich white male landowners are considered citizens.
Oh, Wait.
