I attended the Texas Republican Party convention this weekend and was honored to have met Rep. Ron Paul, the congressman from the 14th district (near Houston), who has voted
constantly with the US Constitution.
You can research him yourselves, but I want to get a discussion going on this great man. He is to the grassroots, free-market Constitutional Republicans now as Ronald Reagan was to the conservatives back then.
Paul actually ran against Reagan as a Libertarian in 1988, but came to his senses and (again) ran for Congress.
I'll have photos of him up online later, but I'm the official "student coordinator" of the Ron Paul-inspired Republican Liberty Caucus.

Oh, and if the People start making a concerted effort to really get him to run, Paul will run for the US Senate in 2006. It's expected that Kay Bailey Hutchinson will retire and come and run for governor in that year.
Hope so.
