I'm for the option of abortion being available, without parental notification or consent, abortion being federally and locally funded, and available to those underage. However, I'm not encouraging it either.

She shouldn't have been declared innocent, as temporary insanity doesn't wipe away guilt. However, I do think she should be treated for whatever insanity is plaguing her, because any insanity that causes you to kill five people, is NOT temporary.

No. I do not believe in the desecration of an American flag. (In order to destroy an old flag, you have to cut the stripes, thus it is no longer a flag when you burn it.) If you want to "express" yourself, find a way that does not destroy the very symbol of your right to do so.

I think someone doesn't quite know about our legal system. Temporary insanity is an affirmative defense. In order to play that card, you basically say you did it, but because you were insane at the time of commission, you shouldn't be held legally responsible for it. If the jury buys the temporary insanity plea, the person is not declared "innocent" (they never are...it's guilty or not guilty), and they certainly aren't released back into society. They go to a mental institution until such time as they are considered healthy enough to re-enter society...and even at that point, they may still be forced to serve the remainder of their prison sentence.

Would you do meth if it was legalized? No. I have too much respect for my body. It's not the healthiest right now, but I won't do drugs that could risk making it unhealthier.

I think what needs to change before any thought on the drinking age is the cultural view of alcohol that our society holds. Without that view, drinking would not be as big of a deal as it currently is.

Too late now. It would be nice to get the troops out of Iraq, but as we've done both good things and damage, we need to stay in order to help Iraq out when they set themselves back up. (However, this would be ideal if they wish us to help. If they don't, then we should work on cleaning up our mess and leaving.)

I can't say. If they are in pain, the obvious answer is yes, but why is it yes for physical pain, but not emotional?

I don't have children. I don't plan to have to decide this for another ten years-- at least. Do I think spanking works? Not all the time, but I can't give a definitive answer as I'm not a parent and not in control of children.

Probably not. The flag may only be a piece of cloth that we sometimes seem to worship, but as it holds a lot of importance, I would not destroy the symbolization unless it was a symbolization for something else, which I would not accept any kind of payment for.

I'm going to answer what I think this survey is getting at. We Americans, as a society, need to accept the realities of postpartum depression and realize that women act in accordance to emotions and thoughts they normally would not agree with or seriously think about when not dealing with postpartum. It is a real thing, a serious thing, and diet and exercise are not always the answer to dealing with it. With that in mind, I do not think women who are obviously suffering from symptoms of postpartum (or those in labor/right after birth) should be charged as seriously as they have been in past cases.
