Why does it matter if the person in question was homosexual? If they are a good person, and they would run the country well, then I would vote for them.

For the sake of debate;
The new testament God isn't into the whole fire and brimstone deal... I think everybody who is would be out. Most of the people (over 18) who aren't out are professionals who don't want any double standard or sideways glances, but if the president was openly gay it wouldn't be such a big issue.

Right, but everything sounds weird at one point or anther. There'd be a first gentleman if a female was elected president.

I wouldnt vote for someone based on their sexual orientation. Id vote for someone that had the same views as me. And besides, its not like it would make a diffrence in whats going on with our country. I mean, president bush's orientation isnt getting in the way of serving his country, is it?

Even though I'm a lesbian, I wouldn't vote for someone simply based on their orientation. Obviously I would have nothing against it, but I'd vote on what they seemed to stand for.

I was just wondering how many people out thier wouldn't vote for someone just because of their sexual orientation. Personally I agree with [QUOTE] Originally posted by autumn_tonight:
I dont think it's their sexuality that matters. Just their views and what they stand for. I would vote for them if I agreed with them on issues.

Males are generally the sex when talking about one person; don't remember the writing style that's called, but it's legitimate, so don't criticize.

sorry if its only grammar, but when you think of a homosexual, do you automatically think of a male?
otherwise, I completely agree with what you said.

If he can do a good job, I'd vote for anyone. Regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, nationality, anything.

i feel exactly the same way as they do, why does sex matter? as long as they do thier job right it shouldnt be an issue

I would vote for a Homosexual. But if magically I agreed with each on every topic and had absolutely no polir=tical prefference to one or the other; I would pick the one who seemed to be a better family man. If they were both equally good fathers/husbands- I would vote for the hetrosexual candidate. But because that theoretical situation will never arise, I don't think a candidates sexuality will be anything in my mind other than what the candidate makes it. If a person who happens to be gay is what the campaign is feeding me- I'm good. If "gay gay gay, happy happy happy, first gay pres" while riding around in gay parades- not so much. to be fair, if the straight guy rode in a parade celebrating his sexual attraction to women, I would not vote for him either.
