A few comments:

If you're going to say that Obama's birth certificate is a forgery, provide some evidence.

Also, a clean campaign means no mudslinging. It does not mean no criticism of your opponent. There's a slight but significant difference.

wow nathan2142. I don't think I could disagree with you more.

1) "His 'trickle up' economics are a total joke." Why in the world do you believe that? These taxes WILL work. Giving a tax break to the middle class isn't a joke! The middle class are people that need more money (less taxes), not the rich CEOs. Not to mention, "trickle down" policies never have, and never will, be effective.
2) "His birth certificate is forgery"??!!! What the h*** are you talking about? I'm sorry, but this is a load of crap. I hope you don't turn out to be one of the racist creeps (or one of those who calls him an Arab). Guess what - if no one in real power has said he doesn't have a real birth certificate, he wouldn't be running. Stop making up crap excuses.
3) Obama is running one of the cleanest campaigns possible. Turn on the TV, and the negative ads that you see are coming from McCain. One of the things I really respect Obama on is the fact that he HAS stayed positive. Your version of "attacking" is showing differences on their policies, not making up crap things like McCain (Bill Ayers ring a bell? His pastor? Twisting Biden's words? Making up complete falsehoods about his economic plans?).

I hope you watched Obama's show last night. It was amazing, showed how he'll help the American people, restore the American dream, and how he really is the best candidate - one of the best we've ever had in my opinion - for president.

Reasons I don't support Obama:
1) His "trickle up" economics are a total joke. Nothing but sensationalism.
2) His birth certificate is a forgery.
3) He couldn't stick to his own "clean campaign" policy he made up a year ago. (He said he would run a campaign that would focus on issues and not on attacking opposition, even though he attacked Hilary and McCain. While they attack too, they at least didn't promise not to.)

I don't think that most people are attacking Sarah Palin's personal life. However, Vice Presidents are important, especially for McCain, considering how old he is. I agree though that people are getting into the name calling rather than actually discussing the issues... unfortunately, that always happens Frown

honestly people, are we really gonna all argue over Sara Palin? she is not the focus of this event. we should vote on issues, not whether the vice presedential canidate has a dead moose flung over the back of her couch. We are ending up just getting sucked into name calling, we need to decide our positions by what the canidates say, not by some wild rumors.

I dont belive sara palin is qualified, not because of her personal life, but because she just doesnt have enough experiance.

Exactly, wolfie. Both candidates are qualified, and intelligent, but for the Americans who disagree they are "idiots"

Just because you(not you wolfie) can't think of an argument for why you disagree with their policy, they are not stupid, you are for generalizing and turning this thread from and informed debate to "Stupid-head!" "Idiot"

American voters need to stop the name calling and pay attention to the issues that will change the course of our country's future.

Why are they both idiots? I don't really consider either stupid. They know what they're talking about. We just have to remember that most Americans are stupid and if the candidates act too smart for them who knows what sort of dire consequences could ensue. XD

Oh jeez. I don't even know where to start on this one...

Besides, from the sounds of it, you're voting for Obama...why should it matter to you who the Republican candidate chooses as his running mate?

It definitely matters to me who he chooses because there's a fifty/fifty chance (give or take a bit) that McCain will be the next president. That means his running mate will be second in line to run the country. Personally, I don't agree with much of what she says, but neither does McCain, and that is what worries me.
If he does win, he could do great things (as could Obama - I'm not debating b/t the two) but if something were to happen to him (God forbid) she could step up and change our entire direction. Many voters will choose McCain b/c they agree with HIS policies, but at any moment she could step in and take over, putting into motion things that even those who voted for her don't want.
I don't know if I explained that well, to sum up: The people who are voting for her, and the man she is running with, don't necessarily agree with her views or policies! That doesn't make sense to me. They should agree, as should those who are voting for them.

As much as I hate Sarah palin, she doesn't just agree with what McCain says. The most recent example being their disagreement on a federal marriage ammendment. Palin for it, and McCain wanting to leave it to the states.

As for talking about each other, welcome to politics. It's not productive but it always happens. I have actually been impressed with Obama because his campaign has been much less attacking than McCain's. McCain will answer a question with "Well Obama would do this" where as Obama has actually answered.

What are you talking about? I agree with you that Palin often doesn't know what she's talking about, but Obama certainly does! What has Obama done to lose your support?

Ok, people are getting quite extreme here, on both sides. First off, I don't think that Wolfie should have said "Sarah Palin is a little whore," but I also don't necessarily believe that someone automatically earns a lot of respect because they hold power. If that was the case, we should all be more respectful of Hitler.
First off, she does NOT have experience, unless you consider being the sports reporter and mayor of a tiny town "experience." I think it's amazing that during the short amount of time she's been in office, she has ALREADY had loads of corruption - trying to get people fired through her power, stealing money, etc.
And stop saying Obama doesn't have experience! That makes me so mad! He does have experience - he worked for the COMMUNITY of Chicago - helping them after so many jobs were laid off. That to me is amazing, especially considering he could have gotten a job essentially wherever he wanted, considering he was top in his Harvard class. The experience he has is much better than McCain's experience - Charles Keating anyone?
(Don't get me wrong - McCain's war record is extremely, EXTREMELY honorable. However, there is more to politics than being a war veteran).
Next, can we STOP talking about shooting wolfs? I understand that he talked about that, but really, lets keep this related to issues.
And yellow92, what "change" are you expecting McCain to bring? Deregulation? More oil? "100 years in Iraq?" People need to open their eyes and realize that McCain is essentially everything that Bush is.

I completely agree that I do not want her to be a President. 1 in 3 Vice Presidents have been called into the Presidency, and the rates are probably higher for McCain, considering he is nearing the age of the average life span of a male in the US. I don't want someone to run the country whose version of foreign experience is being able to see Russia from her house.

Look at the lies that Republicans have been stirring up with their speeches, ads, etc. "Obama was advised by Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac." Excuse me? These facts have just been shown to be completely, absolutely, 100% FAKE!! People need to wake up, and not just trust Fox News to give them reliable information
