Why is George W. Bush Such a Terrible President?
When George W. Bush took office four years ago, I never dreamed of the atrocities he would go on to commit. Since his inauguration, Bush has made countless mistakes and awful choices, including lying and manipulating information, passing unconstitutional bills, and going against the UN in a completely unnecessary venture known as the Iraq War. For these reasons, we should not vote for him in the upcoming Presidential Elections. Who knows how much more damage he could do with another four years in office? In the words of Ken Livingstone, the Mayor of London, “I actually think that Bush is the greatest threat to life on this planet that we’ve most probably ever seen. The policies he is initiating will doom us to extinction.” Should a man like this have the power to drop a nuclear weapon and declare war, thus destroying thousands of innocent lives? My answer is a vehement no. Bush was not even elected fairly. He’s also made the rest of the world angry with us. We have lost much more than just our personal freedoms and rights, we have lost the respect and admiration of other nations. Bush’s decisions in the name of America have undermined what we stand for as a country and given Americans a bad reputation worldwide.
President Bush has lowered taxes for higher-income citizens while increasing the military’s budget. Out of 191 countries, 130 have an American military presence. He has attacked and taken over two nations since coming into the White House. Bush has also passes the Patriot Act, a highly controversial piece of legislature that has the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) all over it. He has also completely disregarded the UN’s decision on going to war in Iraq. Even his election was uncertain. Some people say that Al Gore really won the 2000 presidential election, and only 54% of US citizens believe that Bush was legitimately elected to his post. Bush has sent troops into two countries in the past two years, yet he tried to avoid being sent to war in Vietnam. We should not even consider re-electing this despicable crook.
Some people claim that Bush has done a good job running this country. They say that Bush has done a lot to ensure our safety, and that he is an honest man. They also say the economy is doing well.
Bush has virtually no finesse or tact. He lies and manipulates information, and sometimes lies by omission. He hardly mentioned important issues like the Iraq invasion and the national debt in his State of the Union. He also does childish things like snubbing the French when they don’t agree with him. I am thankful that some nations aren’t afraid to speak up when something is wrong. For example, after the French showed they didn’t support the Iraq War the Bush administration renamed the fries in the three House office building cafeterias “Freedom Fries.” How ridiculous! It is wholly embarrassing to see the leader of our great nation getting petty revenge over something as trivial as the name of a food. France is to be admired for not compromising their values and for doing the right thing. However, now the French people are being made fun of here in America for the actions of their government. That is also wrong. The French people are not responsible for the actions of their government, and they do not deserve the disparaging and rude comments that are now being made about them. Another example of Bush administration lies is the Jessica Lynch affair. It was claimed that Jessica Lynch was raped and injured, and a rescue operation had to be undertaken to rescue her from hospital. Supposedly there were guards around the hospital, and her rescuers had to shoot their way in. In fact, it was all a carefully planned act. Jessica was not guarded at all, and she had not been raped. It was all a ploy to gain sympathy and support for the troops in Iraq. Another way to manipulate our minds is the Homeland Security Advisory which lists the current threat level. This alert is totally meaningless. It does not help us in any way to prepare for future terrorist attacks, it just makes people worry. I also wonder where they get their information from. How do they know that there is a higher chance of a terrorist attack on any given day? This system, unveiled on March 12, 2002, by Tom Ridge, the Assistant to the President for the Homeland Security was in response to the September 11 attacks. Since then, it has been absolutely pointless. Usually, the 5-level system is at the third highest level, Elevated or yellow, which means that there is a significant risk of terrorist attacks. It was recently raised to High, or orange, which means that there is a high risk of terrorist attacks, from December 21, 2003 to January 9, 2004. However, no attacks were carried out.
Bush has passed unconstitutional and controversial laws, incarcerated seven hundred people from around the world in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and violated the Geneva Convention. Shortly after the September 11 attacks, the Bush administration passed the Patriot Act, a law that violates the constitution and allows our own government to spy on us. Even its name is un-American. It implies that if you do not agree with the Patriot Act you are not a true patriot. In fact, the very essence of America allows one to have different views, to question authority while still loving your country. Lately there has been a surge of blind patriotism, which implies that anyone who disagrees with the government and the president is unpatriotic. Our country was founded by going against the government at that time and rebelling. When something is not just and fair we must disagree. We have to watch our government carefully, for corruption spreads quickly. The Patriot Act allows the government to look at records on a citizen’s activities, such as library records, video rentals, drugstore paperwork, parking tickets, travel patterns, financial records, medical histories, Internet purchases, and any other activity that leaves a record. It also lets them conduct secret searches, when you don’t know that your house has been searched. This violates the Fourth Amendment, which states that a warrant is needed before a search can be conducted. The Patriot Act eliminates the need for a warrant. Also, secret searches limit your ability to protest the unfair searches. It allows for the indefinite detention of non-citizens, such as the detainees in Guantanamo Bay, too. The Bush administration’s new immigration policies practice discrimination by only fingerprinting and photographing people from countries who need visas to visit. This considerably lengthens the total time spent waiting in airports, thus creating a greater security threat. George W. Bush is the only American president to ignore the Geneva Conventions by refusing to allow inspectors access to US-held prisoners of war. His tax cuts do not help our country. If anything, we should raise taxes to better fund schools and welfare programs. 88% of American citizens will save less than $100 on their 2006 federal taxes as a result of 2003 cuts in capital gains and dividends taxes. Bush’s cabinet members are expected to save an average of $42,000 as a result of the cuts in capital gains and dividends taxes.
Bush has fabricated intelligence to provide a reason for invading Iraq. We still have not found any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and a recent government information leak shows that Bush was planning this war the moment he took office. This war may have been a personal vendetta against Saddam as vindication for his father, Bush Senior, who oversaw Desert Storm. But the real reason? OIL! Operation Iraqi Liberation (the name the mission was going to be called before Washington realized what its first letters spelled) was for oil. Now we have a military presence in a poverty-stricken country rich with oil. Countless other nations have corrupt, cruel rulers and unfair governments, but we do not help them because they don’t have anything to offer us. For example, Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf seized power in a coup. His citizens are sick and starving, hungry and poor. We do not remove him, however, because he serves our purposes. He supports us and gives us air space. Also Pakistan does not have resources valuable to us. Until they find oil there, that government is there to stay. We tolerated Saddam Hussein for 12 years before suddenly deciding he was a threat to us. We even provided billions in aid to Saddam Hussein in 1982 for weapons to kill Iranians. Why didn’t we remove him in Desert Storm if he was so dangerous? We didn’t need to invade Iraq. Saddam would have kept to himself if we had not gone in. Iraq is a poor country which is virtually no threat to us. They don’t have anything dangerous in Iraq, because Saddam uses all the money to build better palaces! Bush keeps messing up in Iraq. Showing the bloody bodies of Saddam’s sons on national television was in very poor taste. It was religiously insensitive, and there was absolutely no need to display those grisly corpses here in America. The best display of character is not how you treat your betters, but how you treat your inferiors. There is no concrete evidence linking Saddam with Al-Qaeda. The public was led to believe that Saddam Hussein was involved with September 11. In fact, Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda orchestrated the attacks. He is the person who poses the greatest threat to us, but we still haven’t caught him! Why are we wasting our time, money, and lives in Iraq when Osama is loose?
George W. Bush is a tyrant who must be removed. His actions, policies, and lies have twisted the image of our nation into something quite different. I know that something is wrong when the Constitution is cast aside, and the very framework of our great country is ripped apart. We must not stand for the lack of justice and fairness at this time. The loss of our freedoms and rights is unacceptable, and we must do something before it is too late. We must not vote for George W. Bush in the upcoming election! We must not give him a chance to invade other nations, kill more innocent civilians, and taint the news with his infernal, smug, smirk, for then we will only have ourselves to blame. We must remove Bush from power.

Who would of guessed it, Georgte W. Bush is goin for another 4 years. I myself would of thought it would of been Kerry, but nope. But thats only because I would of my human mistake of listening to the media. Bush is also human, he makes mistakes. So what if he did alittle lying and manipulating, who doesnt? And so what if he went against the UN, they are all complete idiots and fools anyway. All bunch of p***ys. All want "Peace" in the world, stop war! Haha, you need war to create peace! And it's Kerry (democrats) that is the greatest threate to human king, he n Clinton would deliver US to the enemy on a silver platter. They're the one's who would drop nuclear weapons and declare war, thus destroying thousands of innocent lives for the US. It's not Bush's fault that all the other countries are angry Bush's way of destroying the enemy. He went strait to the source, thats the only way your goin to get them. The gov steals money from ya from all angels, Im not worried bout tax cuts and higher incomes? So? Woopy! Military budget increasing? How do you expect us to keep our military men and women up to date w/food, equiptment, and ect.? Need the stuff some how, why not increase the budget! Soldier's arn't cheep! And with all our new soldier's and their cool new equiptment all brought to them by the money we payed for the budget of the military, they got to take over cool 2 countries to help! Though it isn't his fault that we are in 130 countries w/military out of the 190. Talk to presidents in the past! There is a reason we are there, don't worry about it! Our men and women are protecting our country as they are taught to. Though protecting our country, we don't need the Patriot Act. That I have to agree w/alot of people on, idiotic. Our government though is always trying to take away our rights as people, and trying to make us feel "safe". As in George Carlin's words: "The feeling of an illusion, the illusion of feeling safe!" The American people are sad, so they voted to help pass the Patriot Act, with the help of the ACLU (idiots that should of never made a union). Morons, just like the UN. UN use to be owned by the US till we got tired of being in it, because everyone in it are democratic liberals, nothing of what this country is and never was ment to be. We weren't ment to be a social country, we are ment to be a capitol country. Nothing what Gore had in mind, even if he supposably won the election in 2000. W/e! Just like this past time w/Kerry, Kerry was suppose to win and yet he didnt, boo hoo. Good thing he didnt win cuz he's a war criminal unlike Bush (even though both did avoid the Vietnam War [Kerry only had 4 months in it and was out w/3 purple hearts {2 of them self inflicting wounds and the other done by enemy}, a war criminal, and ended up w/Fonda* lady who was head of the protest against the war]). And unlike Kerry who is a war criminal, Bush aloud his records in the military to be shown by all, Kerry didnt. Who is an honest man now? Who do you think now would run the country as a "good job"?

We went in to liberate evil that was suppose to be liberated back in the early 1990s, Clinton was to chicken to do it! And the national debt, we'll be out of it, just keep the democrats out of the gov and we are save to sail! Thats the prob w/the French, they are democrats and only know how to spend money. Look at them p***ys, they havent won a fight and are to irrogant to get up and fight. They are lazy and wimps. Look at their history in wars, ever since they lost to the British, they've have not one a war! Freacken French, though they do have good fries (even though they weren't the first to think of them. They took the idea and made into what is now known as "French Fries"). And it is the French's fault that they can't tell the gov what to do and when to do it, thats their prob they have to face and deal with on their own! And when did the whole "Jessica Lynch" was rapped and was guarded by the enemy guards when the US got there to rescue her? I only remember her little group of POW's that were taken captive, they were maybe beaten alittle but not rapped and guarded by guards when we got there. Don't know where you got your info from! But her deal w/the enemy and the concept of her having a few wounds, did boost the moral of soldier's and soon to be soldier's! Including our soldier's on home land defense. Though the homeland security thing is rather annoying and is to scare people. Scaring them to believing the concept of what George Carlins has said: "The feeling of an illusion, the illusion of feeling safe!" And yes it is pointless and useless!

quote:

Just like the "Patriot Act", pointless and uselsess. Unconstitutional and shows on how the government itself wants to be in full control, hints why we are no more capitalism, we are both capitalism/socialism (more on socialism then capitalism). And don't believe everything a polotical person says! So the Patriot Act tells you that your a patriot if you go w/the act and if you don't, then your not! Ha! Funny! Idiotic! Enough said bout that! Though tax cuts, so what?! I like not having so much taxes, taxes is way for the gov to steal my money from me! Not my fault that schools don't know how to use money wisely and welfare programs? You're telling me that American people don't know how to take care of them selves? Can't save their own money? Have to rely on the gov for help eh? Not what this country was founded as! To do things your way with morals and comen sence! Saving money is comen sence, the Gov saving money isn't!

quote:

Also taken down an enemy that was ment to be taken down year's earlier, that's also commen sence! Bush just happened to get the guy that Clinton was "friends with". They guy did have weapons of mass destruction, and a big money deal w/oil. He was one of the main countries to give out oil to the world, but now he has lost all what he owned. Yeah, his country has oil and something we, and rest of the world needs, but Sadam also had weapons of mass destructions that needed to be rid off! The other cruel rulers, are soon to be gotten rid of as soon as we get things settled in Iraq. And the ruler of Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf is a bad an example. His citizen's are sick, starving (also means hungry), and poor! Hahaha! Isnt that also in Africa, parts of South America, and also in our own country! Or what about Mexico? *Sarcasum* Their head guy isn't making weapons of mass destruction but they sure are dieing of starvation and being poor, we should help Mexico! Lets forget bout our nasty war and go help Mexico, who's with me? *Sarcasum* Ah, 12 whole years of his idiotic reign, and we put up with it! Wow, we are good... No, thats called idiotic and should of taken him out long time ago! And yes Iraq was a threat to us, Sadam Hussien was large and in charge of the country before we knock him out of power. Its not Bush's fault that Sadam wasn't taken out during his dad's time or even Clinton's time! Oh and lets not forget the horrific scence's of Sadam's son's which were shown on National TV, now that's just a wonderful sight! *Sarcusm* To see your enemie's family being killed cuz he's not been caught! Its only fair! *Sarcasm* That was only their to boost moral of the soldiers again! It did a good job, I thought! All well, so a few of his family member's were lost in the hopes of capturing Sadam, I think thats just funny. All well, $h!t happens! Just like that Osama guy attacking us! Its only because he doesn't like us cuz we are a big threat to him and his kind, just like all the people like him (Ex: people of the middle east type or anyone who is a terriorist [anyone who will take their own life for millions in the name of their god to bring down this great nation]). And don't worry bout Osama guy, or anyone who is a threat like him, judgement will come to them in time!

quote:

And with such judgement, you would think our great leader's would chose correctly and with the constitution in mind. Ha, thats not the case with our government, dont matter who is in office (rep. or dem.), the gov will always put the constitution aside and to the point of where you don't even need to know it any more. Acorse this country is ripping apart, its because the gov is dumbed each generation and help keep the dumbness with all the immorgrents that come in by giving them the choice to decide to know or not know the constitution. Yes, Bush has done a few wrongs in his time, but hey, he's alot better then what we would of had! We would be kicking our selves in the @$$ after Kerry left office from his term in the next 4 years if he was in office. He would of pretty much gave us to the gov, unlike the Predz now! The Predz now, he goes n fights the enemy and serves the enemy to the other countries who are also suffering from the same fate as we are, on a silver platter! We must not remove Bush from power, or if we did, we would have ourselve's to blame the idiotic mistake we have chosen!

I believe Bush is an imperfect president at an imperfect time.

Bush is a president who is conforming to the time in which we live. He may not be some great leader, but he is doing what he can to keep this country safe and meet the threat of terror We live in a time of fear and therefore we must meet fear with great opposition. I believe we are doing this with the war in Iraq and the liberation of Afghanistan. Yet now we need to confront the conflict over border relations with Mexico.
