I agree with blue democrat and iwannastayfree. I am woman (almost, got a few more years to go) and I am self-proclaimed feminist, but I don't think that a woman or a black person should be voted into any office simple because they are black, or a woman. The same goes for men and white people. Also, I don't think that Condoleeza Rice will be running in the next presidential election. They already have a list of White Men they want for the job, who would be more likely voted for. Also, (and I'm not calling all conservatives bigots here) it's a well proven fact that people with rascist and sexist tendencies are mostly conservatives, so a conservative black woman won't be on the ballot any time soon.

I know Condoleeza wouldn't win because of the Republicans....you know they hate all minorities. I'd definitley vote for Hilary. Hopefully she'll run in 2012. I don't think the USA is quite ready in 2008 for such a strong woman like Hilary.

is that why colin powell and condi got into Bush's white house?
s strong woman?! oh you gotta be kidding me!
your statements are lacking one very vital thing. PROOF.

I think black presidents and female presidents are still quite a few years down the road in this country, if they will ever happen at all. We will be lucky if Bush doesn't change the laws to keep himself in office for another 4 years.

I have to say that i hate stereotypes. However, usually men think differently than women. We seriously need a female in the white house. I would definitely vote for Condoleezza Rice.

Oprah? Isn't she a talk show host? Does she have any political background? Oprah running for president or vice-president would be a huge joke. I mean how many people actually know her last name?

I have one issue with having a female president and it has nothing to do with men are better or any of that jazz, but with all of the issues involving Muslim countries this could be a huge potential problem. The do not give any respect to their own woman why on earth would they respect a woman leader of a country that most of them already despise. I would almost bank money that if a person of ethnic origin ran for the Presidency he/she would pull the vast majority of votes from their ethnic group. Especially coming from New Mexico where there is quite often a hispanic candidaterunning against caucasion candidate it is almost an unwritten rule that the votes are split by race. Why do you think Kerry considered Bill Richardson as a running mate?

whatever you say. whatever you say. she would be a great president.
but i must agree however that the chances for a female presidency are quite unlikely. to tell the truth, i thinkits because men dont want to be ruled by women. but maybe hat just my thoughts. idk

IMO if any woman is qualified to further take away our liberties and plunge the country further towards despotism, it is Condoleeza Rice.

If a female becomes President, it's a miracle. If a black female becomes President; it just won't happen. Perhaps in years from now, and I mean give it 2 decades.

I've kind of always felt that way too. Condoleeza Rice seems like a very intelligent, strong willed woman, much more so than Hillary Clinton. I believe if Condoleeza Rice was to run for the 2008 election, she would be nominated by the Republicans, and have a good chance in the national election.

I'm all for a female president (if they are equally qualified), but Condi and her police-state ways scare me. Actually, Rudy's do too... McCain is my type of Republican.

I agree with bluedemocrat on this. No one should gain a position of power they don't deserve if the only reason we are voting for them is because they are a woman or black, or whatever really. What if we elected a woman without much thought of what she stood for, and then found out that she was a Nazi or something?

There should be a black president or a female president, if a black or female canidates are better than white or male canidates. Then they should be elected. However, the US should not elect a black or female president just for the sake of change. Race and gender should have nothing to do with the election of a president--policies and opinions should. I hate it when people say that we NEED a female president just because we have never had one before. If a black canidate or a female canidate is opposed by a stronger canidate, then the stronger canidate should win because they are stronger.
