YouthNoise is looking for some people to speak on a national radio documentary about youth and politics. It could be a pretty good resume or scholarship application project. Please review the details below and let me know if you are interested at sara@youthnoise.org. Radio Documentary Overview WHAT: A reporter is working on a radio documentary on youth and political activism. The story will focus on youth, their political views, political activism and their future political leadership. We need several young people from YouthNoise to be interviewd about their views, issues they care about and how learn about their future plans. WHEN: Interviews will most likely be set up for next week, so we need responses ASAP.
Mail me about writing for YN: sara@youthnoise.org

Hi speed, I sent you a NOISEmail last week. Is it possible that you have changed your email address since registering? Per the request in the original post, if you could all send an email to the address given (sara@youthnoise.org) it would be very helpful. Thanks, Sara

Or you can follow your own advice and not bring up an issue that had obviously already been dropped.

Hahahahahahahahaha. It's pathetic how even threads with peaceful purposes become controversial. Grow-up guys, seriously.

I don't do activism anymore, ( it made me too much of a target ) so I probably wouldn't be of much help. Apologies for the useless post.

So is anyone else other than Speed interested in this documentary thing? I think he's the only one who has volunteered so far.

quote: I think in the future it would be best to figure out a way to post these kind of opportunities on the homepage. Perhaps, in addition, one thread could also be created for such a purpose. That way, you can reach all YNers, not just the board members, and there won't be any issue of board disruption.
I can't speak for all board members, but I always at least look at the titles of all of the new threads posted on since my last. I have a feeling a lot of the other board users do the same. Because of this, posting multiple threads really has no effect except to attract negative attention.
I'm agreeing with Meg. I remember a recent occasion where this (spamming with YN news) was also called into question. Since the boards do not represent all on the site, and all on the site see the homepage whenever they log in, the best idea would be to create one thread in an appropriate board (such as calls to action in this case), link it to the home page, and if you wanted to be really certain, link it to the annoying bar at the top that new people seem to look at, and I seem to avoid.

Sorry if I may have seemed rude. Two of my biggest pet peeves are hypocrisy and people who are patronizing.

I believe we have been told many times that the people who visit the boards are only a small number of the people who are actually involved in YN. So why then would you put THREE here if it is only going to reach such a small portion on NMers?

Trisscar - I find your personal attack here wholly unjustified, unkind and disrespectful. I gave Sara the directive to please get the word to all NMers for this amazing opportunity to speak on behalf of your own activism. The interview will be aired on a major national radio broadcast and is an invitation to youth to tell their stories - and demonstrate the extraordinary capacity of youth to make a difference in communities. In an effort to be democratic and assure that many NMers received the notification, we placed notices in three forums. I recognize this is contrary to the rules of play and yet, at YN's discretion, we can take some exceptions particularly to offer our community of activist youth a unique and mission-based opportunity such as this. If you can suggest a better way to reach several NMers, I am all ears. Meanwhile, I believe Respect is a core value of this community. Without it we can none of us enter into meaningful discourse and agree to share our different opinions without being subjected to personal attacks. And we cannot bring you all the opportunities we are presented in any sort of democratic manner. Ginger T. YN CEO

I'd do it just for the sake of adding some balance to the mostly right winged american political spectrum that you're bound to portray, but then again, there's no reason for you to include anything I say if you find it unsuitable, which in all probability you will. Dunno if all that citijo stuff is the same, but from what I've read untill now it does seem somewhat conservative... dunno if I've missed smething but I allready pointed out before how YN isn't really balanced on political issues.

Edit button isn't working. I would like to add that I agree with Triss on all points made. How hard is it to play by your own rules? Just because you made them doesn't mean you are above them.
