The Presidential candidates have a long-running tradition of bad-mouthing each other. Is this spirit of malevolence and borderline hatred truly necessary to campain? America, as we know it, was founded upon and strives to uphold the values of brother/sisterhood and a feeling of welcome and neighborhood. With the very leaders of our Nation undermining those very values it is understandable about why our Youth and general public is getting mixed signals about what to believe regarding our government. It would be one thing if the Presidential candidates simply did this in private forums but as it is every other advertisement on the television and radio is a defilement on the basis of our Nations values. I don't have a problem with campaining in itself but is there not a better way than having the leaders who have the most political influence upon our nation incessantly talk about the other candidates shortcomings instead of their own positive attributes?
